We had an awesome showing against a very good team. Not a lot of defenses are built to stop the giants offense when firing on all cylinders. Playing without Kemo didn't help either. They are the super bowl champions for a reason.

If we see them in the playoffs again, they won't win.

However, this was a good reality check for us, and no losses are good, but this one is will serve as a good lesson. It will either destroy our confidence as a team and we will be out of the playoffs in the first game, or it will remind us that we can hang with the best of them, and help us towards a superbowl run. I think it will be the latter.

Every possible odd was against us winning, and we came a field goal away from winning it. It wasn't the offense, defense, special teams, or coachings fault. Somebody had to lose out of these two good teams, this was our turn. Next time may not be.

Here come the playoffs, and here come the panthers. Rest of the league beware, because a wounded panther is a dangerous opponent to face......

I'm glad someone isn't jumping off a cliff after this game. Football is not a zero sum game until the playoffs; yes, we lost a close game to an excellent team on their home turf, but we learned more about them and how to play them if we have to return to New York. Even more importantly, we learned about what we need to improve on before we start the playoffs. Honestly, home-field advantage is overrated in the modern NFL: teams are not only too good to really be affected by the hostile environment, but they also filter out the distractions of home and concentrate on the task at hand. it's been over a decade since the last time both No. 1 seeds made it to the Super Bowl, and even then it was two teams in their prime.

Our offense continued to show that it can run the ball on anyone, even when they stack 9 in the box. I believe our passing game would have been better if you took out the cold and the weather (did you see the way Kasay's kick got knocked down by the wind?)

This game was lost by the defense, specifically the secondary. Ward's runs were all on guard pulls where their offensive line overloaded our DLs, and the secondary got caught out of position a lot (we did the same thing to Tampa.)

On the coaching aspect, I really think people need to realize that this is not Madden '09. Jeff Davidson just doesn't say to himself "Hmm, I'll just keep running reverses to Steve Smith because he's got a 97 speed rating."

On the last series of the game, we were in great position to win with Kasay's kick: he simply couldn't get it out of the wind's grasp. By the time we reached overtime, their defense was keyed into two things: shadowing Smith and stuffing the run. They pulled it off, and finally the grind of the game got to the defensive line and Ward was able to get them close.

What can we take from this? We can go to New Orleans next week, smash them for a bye, rest and dissect the playoff field. I don't think the team's going to go "Woe is us, we were so close to the #1 seed and national media attention and sportswriters fawning over us and. . ."

Good game Giants, you better hope you don't meet us again! :-D

I think they just made a few more plays then us. Our D was gased. They wanted it more. I am not happy about losing(because morons who know nothing about football will talk crap all week) but I am not sure we REALLY want the hefty task that comes with HFA. We are a really good time that can only get better. Nothing but good coming from this. We missed kemo but getting healthy is much more important. Now kinda off topic.....we clinched a playoff birth but not the division? I hear onething and then I hear another. please clarify....

      Yeah, I've been torn up all week about this. And I'm going to be honest, you and I don't know poo about what is going on with the team. Are they losing the locker room? Not seeing anything from the players about that, just seeing it on forums like this. Are they concerned? Yeah, I'd think that would be a reasonable assumption. Are they rallying around Bryce? Yeah, that I'm seeing from the stuff we see of the players. Is some of it a bit drummed up, quite possibly. Is some of it genuine care and belief in their teammate, yeah most definitely. What is Morgan going to do? Hell, that was just week 1. And week one is often a liar. Once in a while it tells the truth (and that sure was an ugly one to tell last Sunday). Most often, it's just what it is. Half the teams that played in week one lost. Straight down the middle. Sometimes it was a close game, sometimes it was a blowout. We got punched in the face, had our lunch money stolen and Jacksonville kissed our girlfriend.  Me, I saw a team that wasn't up to speed yet. We were playing like this was the fourth pre-season game like we used to have. We're going to learn a lot about Bryce, this team, our coaching and team management after this week's game. It's against the Cardinals, a team that has always been one of those benchmarks for it. Beat them and good things happen (remember that killer game Julius Peppers had against them), lose and it often starts the fast slide to the bottom again (sadly, that playoff game with Jake...). Right now, the Cardinals have their Bryce Young, except their guy still has a better PR department. They have a meh-ish defense. They have a star WR that is underperforming and was possibly over-drafted. They don't have many stars to speak of and dwell around 3rd-4th place in their division on a regular basis. In other words, they are pretty much on par with us. And they are a forgotten team as well, playing games in obscurity. So, yeah, we're going to learn the tale of the season this weekend. And honestly, if we lose like we just did or worse, and I was Dan Morgan, I'd be working on polishing up that resume`.

      At this point, I don't want anymore fools gold from Young. He either needs to be in the MVP conversation  (lol) or I want to get blown out every game until he is off the team. Our front office just isn't bright enough to handle anything in between.
