the dead horse is the fact that we shouldn't call for everyone to be fired. just to get that outta the way: we shouldn't. :D

In all seriousness though, we just played one of the best, if not THE best, teams in the NFL and hung with 'em to the very end. Missed opportunities? yes, of course. but we hung tough. we played 'em hard. we have a helluva team right now.

This gives us motivation to go slaughter new orleans and lock up the number 2 seed... get a first round bye still, homefield for a game. we're proven winners, proven fighters... and i look for the D to get back on track against a one-trick New Orleans offense.

Lastly - Deangelo williams is the freakin man. :sifone:

We proved all season that if we don't get the #1 seed with home field advantage we aren't going to do s***. This team can't win outside of Charlotte and I would rather stay home and get a better draft pick than not have homefield advantage. It's a waste of time...

We can still get a home game by clinching the #2 seed, and frankly, I have seen way too many playoffs to think that the difference between #1 and #2 is anything but a digit. (And lately, I think of any playoff team as dangerous until defeated. Yes, even Arizona. Everyone's assumes things, but the only assumption that's proven these days and that no one knows anything).

Agree... and while homefield would be freakin awesome, this team is proven to be at its best with something serious to prove, with an unquenchable fire in the gut. that fire's been lit this week, and i expect new orleans to be overcome.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
