Who loves uncomfortable silences?

I was having a rather bad evening when I pulled into a BP in the middle of nowhere. All I wanted was a good cup of coffee, but I would settle for whatever they had left. I wasn't really paying attention when I went to the counter, but the cashier, Jaba the Slutt, was apparently planning on eating me in one form or the other.

She made a comment about being thirsty which struck me as odd because it was coffee not Gatorade. I had a thought, which like almost all of my thoughts, appeared from some distant part of my brain with out warning. Unfortunately, it missed the filter, and these words fell from my lips like hunks of gel covered spam...

"You can suck off a water buffalo, but that doesn't mean you are thirsty."

So, there we stood. For a good thirty seconds. Me grinning and her giant triple cheeseburger inhaling maw open. I couldn't help but soak it in. I love an uncomfortable silence, even when I am involved. Anyone else love those little moments?

Sir, I assure you, I have not posted anything as foul as I have in the past.

And please apologize to your father, but the only lube I had last night was from your grandfather's hair. But when the bleeding stops, he can still walk like a cowboy if he wants.

(There... is that better?)

    • To me, this seems like they feel they aren't going to be competitive. I can't help but go back to Bryce. Good guy, but he doesn't inspire people to give it their all. He isn't a "leader" that people look to. There is no Smith, Delhomme, Kuechly, Cam, etc. coming in that door.  It has to be Bryce, but biologically speaking, how often is the shortest man in the room going to command the kind of respect that will drive people? It just isn't. That isn't how we are wired. That isn't how any living animal on Earth today is wired.  I just follow the science guys.
    • Vick's issue with Reid was that he couldn't take a hit, and he wouldn't go down. Otherwise he was pretty good much of the time.  Mahomes has a system that works. Mahomes doesn't become Mahomes elsewhere because not everyone can extract 125% of the ability of a specific player like Reid can. Kevin O'Connell is beginning to look like he has that ability as well but I'll need to see how he does with his Redshirt Freshman.  I also wonder how much of their playoff issue last year was related to the offense as a whole and not just Darnold. Fans don't really dive into the "why" things happen, they just see the what and complain about it.
