2020 NFL Head Coach Watch

Who will be fired? What coordinators are next up to be promoted? What former head coaches could be given second chances?

I know it is premature to even create this thread (considering the season hasn't even started yet) but I think this could be fun to watch how this plays out.

Not sure who is all on the hot seat (outside of Rivera) but if I had to guess: Gruden, Kitchens, Shanahan, Tomlin are just a handful who could be fired if they don't have a successful season this year.

As for candidates:

Offensive Minded: Bienemy (Chiefs), Hackett (Packers), Roman (Ravens),  Shane Waldron (Rams) Moore ( Cowboys)

Defensive Minded: Martindale (Ravens), Eberflus (Colts), Richard (Cowboys), Bettcher (Giants)

Former HCs: Schwartz (Eagles), Bradley (Chargers), McDaniels (Patriots) , Pagano (Bears)

College coaches; Riley (Oklahoma), Shaw (Stanford), Saban (Alabama), Swinney (Clemson)

I am probably missing some names on that list and some these name may or may not have successful seasons but going into the season, this is who I see on the hot list. Feel free to chime in.

Edited 9/11- Added college coaches and added Moore to the list of offensive Minded.

Oklahoma coach + Cam + early round OL picks would be hype

I am not convinced Lincoln Riley will be leaving Oklahoma.... Besides, I am kind of afraid to hire any college coach but I am sure he will get some looks. I'll update the list to add his name.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
