Today Cam was healthy.  He's got a decent (Albeit not perfect they are still jelling) Offensive line in front of him.  A solid Play caller. A defense that gets the ball back for him (int) and he did very little with any of that.  Also, why wasn't any of this rust on C MAC???  I know QB is harder but cmon man.

Little to no live game action? You think you can just play a little bit against a team other than yours in an actual game, come out and light it up?You're talking like he was downright terrible, which he wasn't. Overreacting aren't you? Also, historically Cam always play the first game bad. He improves as the season goes on

And don't get me started on Norv offense. If we didn't have CMC, we'll be terrible. How many wide open guys you saw today? We had 5 different players catch a pass today, Dallas has 7. You heard of Michael Gallup on Dallas? He's a 3rd rounder with 158 yards. Our leading receiver is a RB and didn't even eclipse 100. Norv isn't off the hook at all.

I have to say one thing though.  There have been a lot of average quarterbacks that have won superbowls.  Cam does enough to keep the team in games.  As long as we don't give him some crazy money, he can be the face of the Panthers for the next 5+ years.  Just have to focus on improving in other areas.

I think this year is a toss up, we could make the playoffs if things bounce our way.  It will be tight if we do and we are not going to dominate but we could potentially get it done. It appears we are improved in many areas, most noticeably in the offensive skill positions. 

My fear is the next contract for Newton and how that will affect the team for the next several years.  If he is not going to run then he has to be able to hit the deep/deeper ball more consistently.  We can't say anything based on this one game but we will definitely know by the end of the season.    I don't think I will be watching a game this season where I am not thinking about that and looking for some touch throws out of Cam and some better decision making. 

I am certainly rooting for him to get it done but the proof is in the pudding.    After today, I am a bit more skeptical.  Haven't lost hope, doubt is creeping in though.

I’m most definitely not comfortable giving him $35M/year for 5 years right now. I think we just have to play out his contract then hope Grier develops.
