Panthers vs Saints: Who Will Win & Why?

Its ok, I had us at 6-2 at this point so 8-0 is chocolate cake.

I just want the Saints to play to win. We're in trouble if they ever start to play not to lose.

I also don't see us going undefeated this season. I think after we lock up the division, come the last game of the season I think payton will want to protect and rest our star players and let them sit the bench. We'll probably have our subs and cheerleaders in that last game, like we did with Oakland and Detroit. That might be our only loss of the season.

It is possible for us to win the division by the Cowgirls game. Great b-day present for me! If we everything keeps falling into place and we dont drop a few turds between now and then. The team just needs to keep their one week at a time attitude and we will be fine.

ummmm you're going to win the division... whether or not its by the cowboys game or not. I just say its the panther's turn to play spoiler... no undefeated season. I just hope we can meet in the playoffs, but thats a tall order for carolina.

I dont think we will go undefeated. I wish though. It would be cool to stick to New England twice.

German Chocolate cake is good, but too rich

MOST IMPORTANT COIN TOSS OF THE SEASON! :)

Our only shot at an upset relies on a few things:

1. We can't go down by 14 points at any point. We do, we're toast.

2. Jake must be INT free. He was last week, so it is possible.

3. Double Trouble must both get near/over 100 yds, without our fullbacks.

4. We must control the clock. If this means Smith gets 1-2 passes, so be it. Feed, feed, feed the run game. Keep both teams under 20 points scored each.

5. This is a Divisional Game. We know them. They know us. This isn't like the Saints going up to NYG and whipping them around. We know your moves, we know your tendencies, we have enough tape on you to wrap around the dome ten times. And you have it on us. This will not be a shootout Sunday. This will be ugly, hard fought, and nerve wracking. The team that puts the most complete game together wins. Simple as that.

It depends on what Jake shows up.

If we get the good Jake I really believe we are the better team and would win by a FG or TD. Our defense is playing lights out since Peppers started trying and we got the DT position taken care of with Thomas and Tyler. On offense we have the running game to beat the Saints and we have Smitty. I honestly feel if Jake plays well we have a top 3 team in the NFL.

If we get the average Jake then we lose by 7 or 10 or so just because no matter how well we play on defense they are still going to score.

If we get the bad Jake we lose by 100

I think that about sums it up pretty straight forward. Nice post.

    • The OL has certainly been better than the trainwreck it was three or four years ago. As far as competitiveness let's apply some realism and clarity here. Quite a bit of the competitiveness in 2025 came from the defensive side of the ball which gave up the most points in league history the year before and was one of the bottom 5 units in terms of salary cap allocation for 2025 while the OL was top 3. We had the 26th passing offense last year. And if not for a herculean couple of games from Rico Dowdle we don't back our way into the division title or make the playoffs because we went 4-6 in our final ten games including being swept by the Saints who were starting a rookie 2nd round pick most of us mercilessly mocked when they selected him. In conclusion yes we've seen a difference. The question now is will the investment pay off the way we want. But the only way that happens is if we field a top 15 offense. If we can't even crack the top 20 then there need to be some very warm seats across the board. And I would hope just about anyone here should agree with that.
    • These Spurs are lowkey loaded.  If healthy, they could win it all this year (#2 in the West right now). I still think we’ve gotta keep Kalk on Wemby; he’s not getting completely dominated like every other NBA center.
    • Am I the only one who doesn't understand this fan bases infatuation with adding a high end TE? Especially when we have some bigger bodies in T-Mac and Coker who can slide into the slot at times and provide the big dependable target over the middle that most teams use their TE for. I mean, sure, it would be nice to have one of those elite TE's, but I feel like that's a position your better off going cheap with a committee who each bring something different to the table while spending our cap room on the more important positions. I like the potential we saw from Evans this year, Sanders could be a best if he can stay healthy, and Tremble has improved as well.  Just feels like spending high draft picks or cap space on other needs and more important positions is a better use of our resources than splashing on a TE in the draft or FA. Are those guys on the level of the Bowers or McBride's of the world?  Of course not, but we also are paying a fraction of the cost on our TE room than they are, and we're able to use that money for other needs.
