Can we still host the NFCCG?

That wouldn't be ironic at all.

It would be ironic because even though homefield playoff advantage was on the line, we'd win it anyway and there'd be no difference between having won and having lost on sunday. we'd play our first playoff game at home, and a giants loss would mean we'd play our second playoff game - the nfccg - at home. that's all our playoff games.

that would be very ironic.

Apparently not. The original use of the word, and the two explanations of what would be ironic were both wrong.

Irony has to be the most misunderstood concept in the english language.

noted.

wanna discuss the topic at hand with the rest of the grammar mortals?

Just three.

1. Win against the Saints.

2. Win against our playoff opponent.

3. Giants lose against their playoff opponent.

OR,

1) lose against the Saints, and enter playoff as a five seed.

2) Win the first two playoff ganes as 5 seed, 6 seed does the same.

3) Host 6th seed in NFCCG.

This would have happened in '05 if Washington didn't lose in the division round. However, I much prefer your scenario.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
