Don't fire Fox, just cut Delhomme.

Sorry hepcats, but I'm going to have to politely disagree with you on this. Fox isn't the QB, but he seem to be pushing Jake to be the starter & this is why he is struggling. When a QB like Jake struggle & the coach continue to push him to stay at the starter, it's not going to be pretty & we all saw what happend. Fox should bench Jake like he did with Peete & Weinke when he put Jake in 6 yrs. ago against the Jags. He shouldn't have any problem doing that again, but sadly he didn't. Again the problem is more on Fox than Jake.

There are people above Fox, who can over ride what he wants and tell him to bench Jake...should they be fired too?

But we don't want to be the Raiders east. I don't want JR telling the coach what to do. But there should come a time when he needs to make a suggestion. And that suggestion needs to come today.

I totally agree, I don't want JR to babysit Fox either. But just sitting there and taking it in the ass isn't giving Fox the reality check he needs. How can anyone above Fox sit there and let this continue?

the problem is that we cant cut Delhomme without firing Fox b/c Fox has made it clear he has NO intention on benching Delhomme

and a coach that cant bench one player even if it kills the team is a coach I dont want

This is kind of my point, no one needs to ask Fox who he wants to bring in/play etc etc....Someone needs to tell Fox who is starting at QB and thats the way its going to be, clearly Fox is incapable of doing this himself.

If I was JR, I would've started Moore after the Bills game, and if that were the case I would bet my life we'd be sitting on a better record.

If Fox started Jake the rest of the year I would blame the overhead, someone needs to take control of this circus of a team. The Raiders aren't the only team the 'overhead' had to get involved, look a thte titans. Fisher wanted to keep is 0-7 QB, overhead said "oh, f**k no", now they are 5-7 winning 5 in a row.

Please someone step in...please dear god...

I don't think you need to look any further than Tampa Bay to see why we shouldn't fire Fox. They went from playoff contender to basement dweller because they let go of Gruden, who should have never been let go. He continually propped up an aging and sub-talent Tampa team with solid coaching and leadership. I'm not saying Fox is doing that here, because our talent level is Superbowl caliber, but you can't just fire a the coach because the team is underperforming. And underperforming is stretching it because the defense, even with the injuries, has been rock solid almost all year (with a few exceptions here and there). And many could make the arguement that Deangelo Williams is the best back in the league. Lots of talent here, and this team has done well.

The only reason this team has a losing records is TURNOVERS - and that falls squarely on Delhomme. If Fox starts Delhomme next week against Tampa, I'll take a sip of that koolade because he's off his rocker to start Delhomme again. It's a great chance for Moore to start against the weak Bucs. If he starts and wins, he should ride out the season. If he struggles and loses to the 1-10 Bucs (who got beat by Chris Redman for Christ sake), Delhomme should be put back in. Either way, no way Delhomme should see the field next week, and no way should we fire Fox....yet.

    • Call me crazy but if you’re in the bottom 7 in efficiency using Zone 84% of the time why not try something else? You paid Jaycee top 5 CB money use him more effectively. Zone is only efficient if you can generate a good pass rush to force a QB into mistakes otherwise you will get picked apart
    • Good Lord this board has become a cesspool of negativity and where fandom becomes something twisted and unrecognizable.
    • Yeah, I could jump right into the unbelievable Bryce debate now that some people are trying to flip the script because Bryce Young has, at most, a handful of decent games as a pro, but that's going to work itself out. Suffice it to say that I've seen better QBs (with an s) in a Panthers uniform, and I've certainly seen better QBs be drafted while we're playing around with Bryce, one of them who beat the crap out of us already this season... Let's forget about Bryce (and his markedly underwhelming play since he's been here); I think that most sane fans will agree that drafting him was an error, but it happens. Sure, it doesn't happen to the tune of King's ransom---including your main receiver---but it happens. You bet, you lose. Speaking of receivers...and betting and losing... Oh, man, we drafted Xavier Legette. Yes, just like with Bryce, I've entered "the dark side." Some Huddlers were telling us from the beginning, and they were right. But, I'm not apologizing for waiting to see what a guy's got before making my decision on him. X was a one-year wonder at South Carolina who parlayed some really nice production that season, a great personality and thick country accent, into becoming a first round pick (but only in Carolina). For Dan Morgan and company, He was a big swing that has turned into a big whiff (and I can still feel the ill breeze from that one). Sh¡t happens, right? Well, not so fast. Ladd McConkey was the decidedly more polished receiver who was literally ready to hit the ground running as soon as stepping onto the field as a pro. Ladd was never the biggest guy (though not the smallest), but he was the guy that could run routes, always seemed to get open---no question---and had the same speed as X, but with legit quickness and nuanced shake and bake. But Dan chose the project. He chose the guy where the game speed looks more like a tractor trailer than a 5.0 mustang. Look, I've supported X (just like Bryce) many many a day, but no more. Now I'm not saying that I won't root for the guy. Just like with Bryce, he seems like a great kid. But as far as giving excuses for the kid, and, perhaps more importantly, waiting for some miraculous breakout, I'm done with that. I've seen enough. You don't draft a project for a project. And yes, Bryce had proven to be a project after his first season. In my mind, drafting a supposedly number one receiver that needs lots of development for a starting quarterback that needs immediate help to try and further his development is not going to lead to good things. Pick the surest guy. Or at least pick the one who appears to be the surest guy, because picking can be tricky... especially when you're too busy tricking yourself.
