The Kind of Coach I Want...

I am really not trying to pick on you but:

1. I am tired of people having stupid ass reasons for wanting Fox gone and talking up a less than perfect HC who does the same poo Fox does only does it differently.

2. You are making some dumb statements. No offense, I am sure you are a highly intelligent individual in real life.

First you talk about how you want a fiery coach that screams and yells on the sideline and wears his heart on his sleave. The exact opposite of Fox. In the present day NFL that type of coaching doesn't really always fly so well. The players today are multi-multi-millionares. If you are screaming at them they are very liable to just shut down on you. It only takes one super-star to get fed up with the coaches antics and everyone will quite. This I believe is what has happened to Tomlin. He took the badass persona too far.

Then you get upset that everyone points out that Tomlin has dropped 5 in a row and you claim it is because he doesn't have Polamoulu. Well Fox has had as many injuries or more than a lot of teams this year.

Then you go after Fox for keeping Jake claiming this is directly the cause of us losing so much. Tomlin new his OL sucked but did nothing to upgrade whatsoever, this is probably worse than Fox keeping Jake. Roethlesberger was one of the most sacked QBs last year, at least Jake was decent last year and there was some hope he wouldn't fall apart.

Now you are saying you never wanted Tomlin just a coach who is overly emotionally and screams a lot. You also want a leader of men like Tomlin. Yet Tomlin is not looking like much of a leader right now. He is starting to look like an asshole who thinks his team should do what he says because he said it.

You also say to watch those games, that none of those losses are Tomlins fault. Is it not his team? Is he not the HC? Does he not put together the gameplan and run all of the practices? His team looked like poo against the Raiders, Chiefs, and Browns. That is definetly on the HC for not getting his team prepped properly.

I am not happy with Fox as a HC right now at all but I think it is stupid for people to go around shouting about stupid poo. Making up dumbass arguements about how bad Fox is without ever thinking about what they are saying. If you are going to do this just do what I AM GOD does and say "Fox sucks" all the time.

You can try and color this grass green all you want but it looks poo brown to me.

Sorry John Fox Jr., I didn't know I wasn't allowed to make arguments for a coach I admired because his name isn't Fox. Because my argument doesn't coincide with your perspective, it's "stupid poo" and I'm a "dumb ass."

All my points were valid. AGAIN, none of the players Fox lost were truly significant until Davis and/or Gross... and neither of those players are on Polamalu's level. Gross has been close in his position, but Davis just really started playing on a Pro Bowl level this year before the injury.

Like I said, Polamalu creates offense on the defensive side of the ball.

And your point about Jake and the Steelers OL... There isn't one. Jake hadn't won a Superbowl. The Steelers did last year, even with their shitty OL. So guess what? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Another counterpoint to your "dumb ass" argument. Tomlin isn't the Steelers GM, he had to make due with the pieces he had on the OL. He can't bench the entire OL... Fox had 3 QBs on the active roster to play while Jake was stinking it up, including McCown who Fox and Hurney repeatedly slobknobbed after trading for him... So if the guy was so great, why didn't they put him in there in the Arizona playoff game??? And waited until Jake had blown the Philly game before they put him in? Then he was injured and they put him on IR despite the fact that he's perfectly healthy now...

These are all DIRECT decisions made by Fox. He had options ON THE ROSTER and didn't use them. Tomlin's decisions had to be made with what was there on the OL, he doesn't have the sole ability to go out and sign guys... Fox doesn't either, but he had options to use already on the roster. Are you telling me not one of the QBs on our roster would've played better than Jake has this season, had they been given the chance?

That's all Fox.

And BTW, in case you haven't noticed, QB and OL are two totally different positions. Yes, the game is most determined by play in the trenches, but there's one guy's hand that touches the ball, at a skill position, EVERY SNAP, that guy is the QB.

If this guy, even under duress all day, is giving the ball away, your team is going to lose. His play directly affects the outcome of the game as an individual. So no, you cna't draw a correlation between the Steelers OL and Jake... There is none.

You're right though, the grass is poo brown and it needs to be replaced.

people are excusing losses against terrible teams because of one safety, but I guess people forgot that Chris Harris is a pretty freaking big part of our defense so maybe the Steelers get that excuse but we don't?

But a Superbowl ring does! Fox has had 7 1/2 years here. He might leave after this seaosn and finally win one but he is not getting it done here he needs a change of scenery and we need some new blood.

I equate Tomlins' Superbowl with John Gruden's though...they both won with teams that another coach built, while John Fox came within a whisker of winning one with a team he had to build from scratch. Which one is really harder to do?

Anyway, I'm not hating on Tomlin or anything, but I'm not about to jump on his bandwagon based on what he says to the media either. The truth is, nobody has any idea how Tomlin would have done if he had inherited a bad team instead of a contender. I would say that it's a pretty good guess that he wouldn't have taken a 1-15 team to the Superbowl in 2 years, but who the hell knows?

Hell, if anything this whole debate pretty much makes Cowher look even better, since Tomlin won with his team.

Prouddiddy, I guess I am not going to convince you to just stick to "Fox sucks."?

Oh well, feel free to keep on proving my point while trying to make a case for yours. Thanks in advance for all the hard work you are putting in for me.

No problem. Your idea of a valid argument is uniform conformity on an internet message board... Send me a post card from Utopia when you get a chance.

Chris Harris is good, but he is NOT Troy Polamalu. Although, I will say that this does provide proof for the point I made about TP... He creates offense on defense, like Harris has through turnovers. We played tons better when we got Harris back b/c of the turnovers he creates and he's one of the best safeties in the league in taking away the edge on runs.

Now multiply that several times over and you got Polamalu.
