Wallace probable to play vs Pistons

If Gerald Wallace isn't in the all star game I give up on the NBA. This is MVP worthy effort he gives and now the points are starting to come. Being a great teammate, excellent rebound, smart player, great defender, and now go to scorer. What else does it take to get in?

This guy is a rare example of what's right in the NBA. Unfortunately for the NBA, I emphasize he's a rare example. With probably 40% of the roster spots wasted on former high school players, former 1 and done college players and european players who never reach their potential, seeing someone like Gerald who came in as a bench player and gradually has improved each season is a treat. I really wonder how good Gerald can become. If he ever established a more consistent jump shot, watch out.

Wallace was a one and done player who has finally reached his potential.

There are definitely a lot of great one and done, highschool and euro players in the league. I just look at guys like Jonathan Bender, Dorrell Wright, Darko Milicic etc who've been in the NBA 5-6 years and barely scored a 1000 points and wonder when will teams move on and start giving other guys chances.

NBA just seems short on talent to me. How guys like I listed before and Eddy Curry stay around is confusing to me.

When we had the expansion draft who did the choosing for us? Was it Bernie? Getting rid of Bernie was one of the biggest mistakes the Bobcats made.

Yes it was Bernie, and once Jordan came on board, Bernie's role with the team was obsolete. He's in Chicago now. Bernie used to get trashed all the time, but in hindsight he was nowhere near as bad as portrayed and you can at least say he got the minimal talent he had back then to perform hard every night.

    • To be fair, I kind of like Bo but he was BAD this past weekend.
    • What I noticed was Tmac running free on deep routes a lot. Can we just get PJ or Hooker to throw go routes on every play for the rest of the season? It would be more exiting than this current mess.
    • We're all aware of the frustrating Week 1 for Carolina, but there's reasons to see Arizona as a possible get-right game. While this will be Zona's home opener (requiring the team to travel out west), they were barely able to hold on to a lead against the hapless Saints who got a chance to tie the game up with 2min left that ended at the ARI 18. Kyler Murray was 21/29 with 2 passing TDs but for only 163yds (5.6yd AVG) and a QBR of 50.9 (RTG 108.8). He was also sacked five times for 33yds. Meanwhile, Spencer Rattler went 27/46 and was sacked just once for 6yds. Kyler also carried the ball seven times for 38yds. James Conner struggled to get going (12 carries, 39yds) but Trey Benson had a good day thanks to a 52yd scamper (8 carries, 69yds). Arizona has weapons in MHJ and McBride, but the CBs have been playing well enough for McBride to be the true focus of the defense. MHJ had a good game though against the Saints, so hopefully Jaycee + Mike Jackson can disrupt that connection. The Cardinals also aren't a disciplined team... with an opportunity to put the Saints away they gave up a TFL and a holding penalty before having the field goal attempt blocked. Their OL suuuuucks at run blocking and got better pass blocking from their TEs in week 1 than they did from any OL except for Paris Johnson Jr. Isaiah Adams and Hjalte Froholdt especially had issues as did Jonah Williams. If the Panthers' revamped DL can't get pressure against them it might be worth giving the alarm a pull.
