The way that McDaniels formulated his deactivation in the Broncos press conference, makes you think the two of them are back to square one.

Given how he might have helped them reach the playoffs, there's a very strong possibility he might not be there next season.

I think he's a very solid receiver, but I'm afraid he is making the most out of his nickname "Baby-TO", so I would rather not have us pick him up.

This is what ESPN Insider had to say dated Jan 1st, 10:21AM

UPDATE: Word came out Friday afternoon that Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniel benched Brandon Marshall for Sunday's key game versus the Kansas City Chiefs, but not because of his sore hamstring.

"Our word for the week has been accountability, McDaniel said. "And we're looking to put the 45 guys on the field on Sunday that want to play together, want to help us try to win and qualify for the playoffs ... And anybody that showed any indifference to that, we'll play without them."

UPDATE: ESPN.com's Adam Schefter learned from a Broncos team source friday that Marshall will be available for Sunday's regular season finale, despite a sore hamstring that kept him out of practice Thursday.

Denver still has a slight chance to make the playoffs with a win over Kansas City and a lot of help -- a lot of help.

The CBS affiliate in Denver reported Wednesday that Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall sustained an injury to his hamstring during the early portion of practice, and limped from the field afterwards.

Referring to my above post, my how things change from day to day.

Found this on ESPN Home page just now:

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Just when they finally patched things up, Brandon Marshall and Josh McDaniels are back to square one, and another reconciliation appears farfetched.

McDaniels announced Friday he's benching Marshall, his Pro Bowl wide receiver, for the team's pivotal season finale against Kansas City on Sunday.

"Our word for the week has been accountability. And we're looking to put the 45 guys on the field on Sunday that want to play together, want to help us try to win and qualify for the playoffs," McDaniels said. " ... And anybody that showed any indifference to that, we'll play without them."

Marshall suggested he couldn't have played anyway after pulling his right hamstring at practice this week.

In an extraordinary half-hour at Dove Valley, McDaniels insinuated on the podium that Marshall was exaggerating the extent of his injury and was unaccountable to the team. The Pro Bowl receiver responded from his locker by noting McDaniels never played in the NFL and hinting he might be getting called out by his coach because the Broncos' season is unraveling.

Since a sizzling 6-0 start, the Broncos have gone 2-7.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
