NFLPA "accepts" league proposal

On the question and answer section of the NFL Labor site, the league wrote the following in one answer: "No current player needs to take a pay-cut as a result of our proposal."

The NFLPA chose to snidely respond Tuesday:

"The players of the National Football League are prepared to sign an agreement today that guarantees that the salary cap will not decrease and that there will be no decrease in retired players' or other benefits under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)."

The NFLPA goes on to suggest a negotiation for an extension to the CBA, a concept the league has already rejected.

PFT's resident legal man is off the computer, and will have his thoughts on the proposal later. But he wrote this morning that the union should request a bargaining session this week.

This "proposal" is a move in that direction, but looks like grandstanding. It's free publicity, with a knowing wink.

For the sake of football fans everywhere, it would be nice to see both sides of the bargaining table make a legitimate effort to make some progress on a deal.

      What people fail to understand is Lance had a college career that lasted about as long as teenage boys first intercourse.  To say he was raw was an understatement.  So much so that even a QB whisperer had a difficult time molding him into a polished NFL product on top of multiple nagging injuries.  The dud is in his mid-twenties, finally healthy and little miles on the tread.  Low risk, high reward.  If he's available, it would be stupid not to kick the tires.  It took Darnold and Mayfield to hit their 3rd or 4th team for things to finally click.  This is Lance's 3rd stop, I believe.  It's either time for it to click for him or be relegated to a full time backup. Roll the dice....

      Wrong.  At least we put a QB sneak in the play book and and add plays over 20 yards.

      I don’t know if people realize that Evan’s was one of the top TE prospects in college  before having some horrible injuries. I wanna say he had two major injuries in back to back seasons which limited his play and dropped his draft stock.
