How do you revive someone as a medic in BFBC2?

I realize this is probably a stupid question but for someone who has never played this before, humor me.

I've been playing around with the different classes, trying to get a feel for them and when I got to medic, I found that I had no idea how to revive somebody. I've done some googling on it, and I'm guessing it is an unlock. In any case, can somebody break this poo down for me? BTW...why do I see people tossing out what look like med packs? What are those used for??

The med packs and paddles to revive are both unlocks. The med packs give people life when they take damage. You can't see your own health bar which is kind of dumb but if you get shot it goes down and you need to go stand by a health pack for a bit. You don't pick them up or anything just stand near it. Hit your D pad you might have unlocked the med packs or go to your unlock's page and see what is next for you to unlock. Are you on xbox or ps3?

Also, another good tip for Medic class;

If you fire your machine gun in bursts, fuhgeddabowdit. If someone is a long ways off, don't try to fire, correct, then fire again. The machine guns in BFBC2 actually stabilize with continued fire, so you get much better accuracy by holding down the trigger. Long story short, don't be frugal with your ammo if you're medic class.

Thanks for the tips. I'm on Xbox btw. You don't know how many times I've died trying to figure out what med packs are for (i.e. trying to pick them up) or how many times I've been mowed down trying to revive someone with what might as well have been pixie dust (i.e. nothing but a cold hard stare and frantic button mashing)

Haha. My buddies and i all did the same thing. The first day someone tossed one down we all ran to it like a pack of dogs trying to figure out how to pick it up. We were mesmerized by it.

LOL. That's exactly how I felt. I remember the first time like it was yesterday...which it was...I was in the heat of battle, bullets whizzing by my head while I returned fire. Then all of a sudden a teammate comes up and starts dropping magical boxes. Of course I stopped what I was doing and looked at the box like it had candy inside. I felt like I was being inhospitable by not picking it up...but I couldn't pick it up, I could only stare longingly at it. And then the next second I was still looking at it but my perspecive was different. I was looking at it from the side...with dirt in my mouth and my vision leaving me.

Dude ask questions keep with it. The game is damn good. I was horrible at first... then last night I was scoring 3-4K a round. It takes time.

I was in the same boat as you at first.

    • You joke, but it can always be worse. He might walk with a limp or need assistance. Different sport, but Lonzo Ball couldn't even walk up steps a year after his injury.
    • I mean... a lot of the information that could've helped set better expectations has always been out there: There was no RB on the team under contract for the 2025 - 2026 season except for Miles Sanders. The team did not have a second round pick going into the 2025 season due to the trade for Young. Chuba's extension did not happen until the beginning of November. Jonathon Brooks was the clear RB1 in the class with a massive gap between RB1 & RB2. Example: Dane Brugler had Brooks as RB1, overall #48; Blake Corum was RB2, #81 overall. The Giants held pick #47 and had just lost Saquon Barkley to the Eagles in free agency. They were going to take Brooks had the Panthers not jumped in front of them. So if we're framing things with that context: Chuba was expected to be RB1 Miles (at the time) was RB2 Brooks was essentially RB3, stashed for rehab in 2024 with a long runway. The original injury occurred Nov 2023 while the re-injury occurred December 2024. That is right in the high-risk window for recurrence, especially in explosive athletes. The fact that it also happened on a non-contact play suggests possible biomechanical issues such as muscle imbalance, rather than a failed surgery (or bad decision-making).   NFL teams invest heavily in medically vetting prospects. If there had been a clear red flag in imaging or recovery markers, the team is going to find it. This sucks and the Panthers have sucked, yes, but this wasn't blind optimism or malpractice by the front office. It was a calculated decision based on the roster, draft capital, positional scarcity, etc.
    • Yep, but they can all rotate with Brown, Brown and Robinson (sounds like a law firm). Can't continue to have Derrick Brown out there for 90+ percent of the defensive snaps. An injury was bound to happen.
