Donovan McNabb

Only 1 QB has gone into the Meadowlands and defeated the defending champs this season. Donovan McNabb. He has now done it TWICE and is about to punch a ticket to the 5th NFC Championship game of his career. I wonder does today's divisional round win on the road count as a "BIG GAME" for those who say McNabb chokes in big games?

he did choke, but eli choked more.

Donovan showed alot of leadership yesterday to help his team win. In the 2nd half he made some crucial 3rd down passes to sustain drives, and also used his feet to extend some plays. He had the 2 INTs, but 1 was a tip and outside of those 2 miscues he made the plays he needed to. Donovan is one of the game's best. PERIOD.

that game was an offensive nightmare for both teams. The eagles didnt win, the giants lost, there is a difference. Mcnabb was horrible. Sure the eagles made some great 3rd down conversions but it wasnt like he did some great play. The Eagles D won that game, not Mcnabb.

one example, superbowl where the giants played the bills. Missed 49 yard field goal... the giants didnt win, the bills lost.

this game. 3-5 field goals, no TD's, the giants had there chances but didnt capitalize. The giants horrible play calling (jacobs has 5+ yards/carry and you qb sneak eli, WTF), eli sucking almost as bad as jake, the eagles have horrible offense...the giants lost due to these conditions and others, not the eagles making great plays on offense.

The first game the eagles beat the giants this year... they beat the giants. The game where the eagles lost to washington? The eagles lost that game, washington didnt win. If you cant figure it out by that, then just be happy the eagles are playing next week and let me mope.

I understand what you're saying, but I don't see how the past game applies.

Even if they make those FGs the eagles still win.

I didn't disagree with the QB sneak. They also had a 4th and 2 and ran Jacobs who failed to convert. It was 4th and inches, so why hand the ball off 3 yards deep? Eagles first TD was 3rd and inches where the sneak worked. They failed to punch it in when running.

Also, Jacobs is a force, but he's actually not a great short yardage back, like the bus for instance. Jacobs needs to gain steam to be effective.

Case and point, when the giants needed to make plays the Eagles D did. When the Eagles O needed to make a play they did. Driving down right before half to get a FG which reclaimed the lead. 3rd and 20 deep in their own territory, they converted. It wasn't a great offensive showing, but they did line up against a pretty darn good defense.

no, this is the typical prevent d that just prevents a team from winning. I hate the 2 minute D and cant understand why every team goes into this mode which usually just lets the other team score.

Making those FG's would have changed a few things. Field position is one and play calling is another.

You just dont understand how much i dislike the eagles. And it isnt because of the eagles, it is because of there fans (my friends). Playing cards with them this month is going to SUCK.

I watched McNabb yesterday and I admire his play. I also admire his fortitude. The guy catches poo from every angle. His coach benched him in a game that they weren't that far behind in, a large portion of his fans give him hell and boo him, not to mention the people that give him hell just because he plays for Philly or because he is black.

...the game also reinforced my belief that he has a bunch of shitty receivers to throw to. Someone brought it up here a few years ago when discussing John Fox. Fox has always supposedly :rolleyes5: been a run first coach, but until recently did not have any high powered running backs. Reid is a pass happy coach that doesn't seem to see the need for a high caliber wide receiver. I guess the one time he tried with TO left a bad taste in his mouth.

Well Don did all he could today but Arizona's offense and dropped passes from his receivers were too much to overcome. Donovan's play in the 2nd half of the season is nothing to be ashamed of and I have no doubt that he's one of the top QBs in the game. I'd love to have Donovan QB here in Carolina.

and you know what's something? the one time McNabb DID have a reliable receiver (loud mouthed as he is), they went to the SB.

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
