Terrance Cody is going to fall hard...

FWIW, it is all speculation...

I've seen Gilyard go in the 6th, Dunlap go in the 3rd, Bay-Bay go in the top 10...

Cody won't slip out of the 3rd, I don't think... Someone will take him... For all the guys like him out there, you have people drafting folks like Maurice Clarett, Derrick Harvey, etc. way too early...

Cody wont drop past the chargers with their 2nd rd pick. idk why people think he is going to fall out of the early 2nd. oh wait...his weight, right. he only lost about 25 lbs since the senior bowl and only weighs about 345 now. umm Kris Jenkins weighs about 360lbs right now according to NFL.com and is/was one of the most dominant NT in the league befor he was injured

And yet Mike Mayock made the exact opposite of this argument last night on Path to the Draft. He said the first round was a distinct possibility for Cody because of 7 teams picking late in the first round that run a 3-4. He went on to say that Cody and 2 other Kemo sized individuals would be drafted artificially high because super big 3-4 nose tackles are one of the rarest commodities in the NFL right now. I kinda believe him.

Not to mention he lost another 5 pounds for his pro day. I think he has it under control. The biggest knock on him is his motor, not his weight. He had a Peppers mentality from time to time but stick him a NT on a 3-4 and spell him on passing downs and he should be pretty solid.

this. I hope the best for Cody as far as where he's drafted(ROLL TIDE), but Im hoping he goes to the Chargers so he has the better chance at the starting job at NT

If mayock says so then I'd be inclined to believe that I'm mistaken. I'll still hold my original stance though just because I'm feelin' it.

I've been on the Cody bandwagon since last year. Had he declared then, I think SD would've taken him if he was available @ 16. Right now, I hope we take him @ 28 cause I think BUF will leapfrog us and make a play for him in the 2nd if we don't. But if they take Dan Williams @ 9, then I'd go Matthews @ 28 and Cody @ 40.

I see a lot of mocks having Cody in the 2nd and others thinking he will go there. But when is a last time a very large guy with weight problems was drafted where he was projected?

I can't think of many.

I'd take Cody in the 5th If we had a pick.

Try last year with Andre Smith. He had more predraft weight concerns/maturity concerns than Cody and he was a top 10 pick.

Yep, SD needs him to play NT with the departure of Jamall. They'll address RB later in the draft if Cody is on the board at 28.
