Moore is the starter...

I have high hopes for Claussen as much as anyone, but it appears that many here are annointing him status that he hasn't earned yet. He has POTENTIAL, that French word that means he hasn't done squat yet. Remember, there are reasons this guy fell to the 2nd round. EVERY single team in the league passed on him, some twice, before we had the chance to grab him. I'm glad we did. But Moore has earned the QB job. He too has potential, and is much closer to realizing it by virtue of the experience he has accumulated so far (though I admit that isn't a whole lot to this point).

Honestly Matt is the new Jake. He's an average QB and replaced an aging veteran whose game had diminished. The only difference is Matt is laid back and he took over at the end of the season instead of the begining. Both guys aren't overly talented, decenct arms and were never/will never be true franchise QBs.

Yes I think Matt will be the starter in camp and most likely start the season, but Like Peete in 2003, there won't be the loyatly to pull the plug early if the play isn' there.

every team didn't need a qb, but you're right in that we shouldn't assume greatness until he proves it ,but doesn't appear he dropped because of talent level alone . Moore is the starter not doubt about that right now but he will have stay on top of his game to remain there

    • Thank you for literally proving my point in so much detail.  Which of those QB's you listed did not go on to be serviceable? Yes, there are a ton of variables that make comparisons less valuable in a lot of way but the whole point is can a pro QB overcome a bad or horrible start.  I'm sorry if you think 3 games more in his first year and 3 less in his 2nd somehow makes the Brees comparison not relevant.  That is blantently disingenuous and makes having real discussions a pain the butt.  We're comparing "similar" bad situations and bad QB play early in a players career. Some of the stats, like games won are lower for Bryce but still comparable.  Other stats like interceptions are in Bryce's favor, ie 19 for Bryce over 2 years and 31 for Brees.   Maybe we are not answering the same question. George stated "Show me anyone who has been as bad as Bryce through 30 games and turned into a serviceable player much less a star." I could have just said, Maddox and Young and proven his statement wasn't factual.  It's the over the top pearl clutching and hyperbolic statements that make my eye twitch.
