Call of Duty: Black Ops

The Other Colbert

Yea it is, when I first signed on I say 3.8 mil on there. Strangely enough there were a lot of dropped matches.

Down to less than 1.1 million at peak times last night and 750k at 1am EST/10pm PST. Day 2 of release. If you read their forums people say get a new tv, the graphics are fine. They are far from it. I have a DLP TV and MW1 looks just as good as this game and its 3 years old. Theatre mode will be the reason why the graphics are toned down. Just like Halo 3's graphics were on par with Halo 2. Sacrifice graphics for theatre mode because the amount of storage extra texturing will take.

The lighting in this game is terrible. There is zero solar flare looking at the sun, but here are gun emblems and icons for your tag. Too many right angles. Feels like the world is nearly perfect on every map. Game just feels like an arcade game more than Call of Duty.

They get some things right taking out OMA, Danger Close, and Scavenger reloading noob tubes, but if you play competitively, those things you dont worry about in actual MLG matches anyway as they are outlined in the rules.

If I had it to do over, I'd keep my $60 and play MW2.

1 Million? I'm guessing you're on PS3?

Got to 18 twice, once with 4 people and once with 3

We would have gotten farther in the one with 3 people if I didn't run out of ammo.

I'm the only one who never gets a ray-gun :(

I can't manage to get past 14, but that's with 2 people. I have yet to try 4 people. I played with 3 one time and also got to 14, but I think we could do better.

As far as the multi player goes, I'm starting to see the inconsistent bullet damage. It definitely goes hand in hand with the lag though. So far it's not different enough to see myself playing it for a substantial amount of time.

I'm pretty tired of coming across someone, engaging them first, never missing, and still having them kill me. I don't know what to do.

I've been having the same problem. It's pretty damn frustrating. Hope they eventually fix this. I've even been landing what looks like to be headshots and they still roll up and kill me. And the spawns are pretty bad. Sometimes I spawn in front of an enemy or nearby a huge group of them or in the path of a killstreak.

Yea, I've had times where the only thing showing was the player's head and I unload before he sees me, and somehow manage not to kill him. It's just absurd.

And you are right, the spawn system is pretty pathetic. Sometimes it's alright, but then other times it is almost as if you just get spawned to die again.

Yea I'm having the same problem as you guys. Also sometimes the knifing is screwed up. Like I clearly knife the guy and it doesn't register.

Also been having some problem getting into some games lately.

Had the same problem twice today. It's pretty obnoxious. This game is plagued with flaws. If they fix them, it will be good. Right now I'm already sick of it.

    • It was in the updated roster thread. All signings and waver pickups are in there.
    • Great move Panthers.  Hope he is proven to take the #2 spot.  "Keep Pounding"🤩
    • this is where the Bryce defense goes off the rails for me.  We all know Bryce isn't a deep ball chunk play QB.  He doesn't have those physical tools and he doesn't play the game w/ that mindset.  It simply is not what he is.  Then you got folks going essentially going, well actually Shaq was a very efficient 3 pt shooter this season.  He shot 50% from behind the arc and Steph Curry was only at 48%.  So yeah, Shaq is a very effective 3 pt shooter.  Don't say he isn't a 3 point shooter.  Meanwhile, Shaq went 1 of 2 on the season and Steph shot 9343924 3s.  Russell Wilson is a deep ball chunk QB.  Baker is. Geno was his comeback season (best in the league that year I think is the correct call).  That's the Canales pass tree. EVERY QB throws deep at some point.  Arguing you can find a good grade when they went deep one week is just that.   No one can argue Bryce plays the game like a young Wilson throwing f you hail marys downfield.   Jake Delhomme fits Canales more than any Carolina Panther QB.  Teddy Bridgewater can grade out efficiently on his deep passes.  That doesn't make him a deep ball chunk QB.  2 totally different convos.    It would be better for everyone IMO if our org accepted what the unicorn was and built a team around that given they invested so much in him.....which is the criticism I started day 1 when they put him in Frank Reich's offense.  He didn't fit that.  He doesn't fit the Canales tree either.    NFL is about fit more than anything and it's what Carolina gets most wrong.  We essentially run offenses we don't have the QB talent for and you can say the same w/ the 3-4 D.  That's the Bryce era.
