Speculation is rampant that Cavs coach Mike Brown has one foot in the grave and one foot on a banana peel following the Cavaliers' 94-85 season-ending loss to Boston at TD Garden last night.

We may find out for sure at Cavs' owner Dan Gilbert's 2:30 p.m. press conference today. The subject hasn't been revealed, but it's a safe bet he's not going to be passing out bonuses.

Brown’s decision to keep Antawn Jamison on Kevin Garnett is what ultimately killed the Cavaliers in the series. Doc Rivers pointed out that that was the matchup the Celtics focused on when the series began, and Brown wasn’t able to take away Boston’s No. 1 option. Garnett clearly had a huge advantage over Jamison, but for some reason Brown stayed with Jamison way too long and didn’t use Anderson Varejao and J.J. Hickson enough to combat Garnett in the post.

Joel Huerta, a veteran sports journalist with the Los Angeles Times and LA Daily News, writes a blog called onemanfastbreak.com, and if he's right, Gilbert is about to tell us that Brown is about to become one those who make up Ohio's 11.5 percent unemployment rate.

". . . It’s tough to fire a head coach who has won 127 games the past two seasons, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. The Cavaliers had the best record in the NBA the past two years, but failed to make The Finals twice. The players, including James, appear to have lost faith in Brown, whose inability to make the proper adjustments against Boston ultimately will cost him his job."

I like Brown, but he made some questionable decisions in this past series. The article points it out; he shouldnt have had my boy Jamison on KG. Ultimately, I think that whole Jamison trade was a fail. Cleveland should've went after Amare like the original plan was.

Yeah i can not believe they balked at adding JJ Hickson to the trade for Amare. Stoudimire is a class A stud, Jamison is more of a B class role player. That proves to me Cleveland is NOT that serious about getting LBJ his ring. Amare would have put them over the top i think.

Brown needs to be gone. He isnt a strong enough offensive mind to get the Cavs over the hump. The Cavs need a serious upgrade at head coach if they want to win a title.

So in the last 20 years, youve only had 2 head coaches win an NBA title that either arent HOFers or shoe ins for it down the road. Doc Rivers is an experienced coach who is very underrated. He took a trash Magic team led by McGrady to the playoffs 3 years in a row, and has now turned around the Celtics winning a title in 08 and competing for one this year. Tomjanovich wasnt a great coach, so he is the 1 instance where an OK coach won a title in the last 20 years. My point being, it takes a superstar coach to get it done too no matter whom the superstar player is. There's a reason why Jerry Buss begged Phil Jackson to come back to LA in the mid-2000's and is paying him 10 mill a year to bang his daughter. You gotta have that coach that's gonna get the ENTIRE TEAM ready for the dance.

      I hope not. 3rd-5th round QB's are historically awful. Most of the time that team is just drafting another QB in the first the following year. Look at the Saints, if they continue to suck this year they are just taking a QB. And if they do they just threw away a 2nd round pick that they just drafted. We did the same poo with Clausen, Greer, Pike, that guy we drafted a few years ago who is so irrelevant I forgot his name...  Just take a 1st round QB if Bryce isn't the answer and be prepared to live with it

      There are people on this forum that just want to see a lot of passing yards....number go up. That's all it is, really. They are thirsting for a 350-400 yard game. The idea that Jameis Winston is going to come in and play like a star and lead us to wins is ludacris. He's the 3rd fuging string for a 2-5 team and has played horrible for years now. Sure, passing numbers will go up but you'll also get a lot of dumb plays, pick 6's, and incompletions en route to a frustrating bad offensive performance, just in a different way. I think these people are yearning for another Delhomme situation, and the odds of that happening are very very slim. It's way more likely Howell or Jameis comes in and looks like Jack Plummer or Andy Dalton did in the preseason. There just isn't that much good quarterbacking in this league right now. And if we draft another QB in the first round, there is a good chance they bust. It's not a guaranteed carrot. The reality is, as mediocre as Bryce has been, the risk of bringing someone else in in-season and releasing Bryce becuase you aren't happy with his current performance is staggeringly high. Don't want to re-up his contract and search for a solution in the offseason? Sure, I'm on board. Bryce hasn't been good enough to warrant a second contract. But It is very. very unlikely that bringing someone else in midseason is going to give this team more wins.
