With Davis injury, where does that leave us next draft?

Recommended Posts

unless Jamar Williams, Dan Connor, and James Anderson all suck, we won't be drafting a LB, unless it is for depth. AND we MIGHT also consider trading Thomas Davis if Beason does good at WLB, Connor does good at MLB, and Anderson does good at SLB.

...oh yeah, and don't forget about Eric Norwood.

I don't really see Norwood stepping into a starting role in this Cover 2 that quickly even at SLB. He's a pass rusher, but not a full time DE so they're going to invent a position to get him on the field, I know we called Davis the "Joker" in certain packages his rookie year when he would roam from the secondary to linebacker. So what will Norwood be called?

Davis is on a 1-year deal (he was an RFA, remember?)and may very likely be gone after this second injury to the same knee. Carolina may not offer him another deal with the Norwood selection and Williams signing. But then, Carolina may offer up their first round pick to move up in the third round to take a LB....
