Seven Preseason Games for the Canes

The Carolina Hurricanes will participate in seven preseason games before the start of the 2010-11 season.

Carolina played in just four preseason games last year, which may have contributed to their slow start in 2009-10. The Hurricanes got off to a 5-17-5 start, which they never managed to recover from. "I think it's the perfect number of exhibition games," coach Paul Maurice said. "We have a bunch of back-to-backs and will have to use a lot of people, which is good. We will have a number of spots open, which will put more value on the exhibition games, both in terms of people trying to make the team and those after more ice time."

The slow start was because everyone on the team was old and useless. I wish they'd play at least one of these games in TWC Arena or something.
