I appreciate what Berman did for the network. I still get goosebumps the first time I hear the Primetime music every fall. He's okay in limited doses, but he can get old really fast.

But as far as annoying ESPN personalities go, he's not anywhere near the top of my list.

Yeah as his ego when saying the F-words ten years ago off camera during a MNF thing, really made me not like him anymore.

Can someone give me examples of why Billy Packer sucks? A lot of people hate him and I want to know why....

My hated goes back to what he said about my University in 1979. Saying that Indiana State didn't deserve to be #1 in the country because we played in the Mo Valley and not the Big 10 or ACC! Yet, ISU had Larry Bird and we had handled every team we faced, including Big 10 teams like Purdue! ISU went onto beat Sidney Montcreif and Arkansas on the road to the NCAA final. (Of course we did lose to the Big 10 team of Michigan State.)

To this day, if your team isn't in the Big 10 or ACC, you aren't sh*t to Billy Packer! He barely gave any respect to the SEC.

The fact that he had a bad day and someone filmed it actually make me like him more.

I'll be the first to admit that I have had my share of rants, but I try to direct myself at equipment rather than at people. Everyone has a job to do and they are trying to do it just like the rest of us.

I remember I got so out of shape one time, that I offered up my badge at IBM. (Again, it wasn't directed toward a person, but the situation.) My Boss called me into this office afterwards and told me to never offer my badge again. (Giving up your badge, means you quit.) That sometime, I may have a boss that would take it.

Berman isn't much different than most people in his business. They get flown everywhere and fed and taken care of wherever they go. They do their shtick for a couple of hours and have yes men around them telling them how funny they are. They make public appearances and people ask them to do their shtick. Easy to see how they can get the disease.
