Greetings from Boy Scout camp

I know I pop in here occasionally to discuss my troop and what's up. We are in rutherford county at Camp Bud Schiele. Whats to report? Other than 4 brand new scouts are homesick and crying each night, 3 older boys are hourly planning how to get even with a younger smart alec scout by antiquing him (using baby powder to powder his face and tickling him with a feather so he smears it everywhere ) at 4 AM in the morning, and it is in the mid 90s, life it great.

Did I mention the three racoons which visited one of my younger scouts last night? He said he thought about trying to leap out of the sleeping bag and make a dash for the door but thought that letting them eat his loaf of bread was a better deal. He said they really wanted his M&Ms but he has put them in his backpack and they didn't try and tunnel through the bag.

I am in the middle of escorting my older scouts to their merit badge classes who suddenly have seemed to lose their way and ended up on the opposite end of the camp instead of where they were supposed to be. Just a small mis-step they remind me.

I wonder what would happen if we lost a few of them while they were canoeing on the waterfront.......

Just kidding....................

My former boss, Bob Johnson, no the not the former owner of the Bobcats, was big into scouting.

He always said when he was taking a goup of scouts camping, "I'm off to chase a bunch of boys thru the woods!"

Have fun chasing boys! :D

My biggest job is really at night making sure that the older boys aren't sneaking out at 1 AM to terrorize the younger boys acting like Chop Chop Charlie ( a ghost story they told earlier in the night). Makes for less sleep than I would like. Specially getting up for the 5 mile hike this morning at 6AM. Went to help with all the new scouts I brought.

Truth is that it isn't chasing boys through the woods, more like herding cats.

Halfway through. No one went home yet. Can't complain.

    • Say you don't understand PFF without saying you don't understand PFF... Every week seems like some of the same people are complaining about something they clearly don't understand.  I'm not saying they are the end all resource out there but once you understand their methodology you can start to appreciate some of their work. For example, their grading system isn't a high school grading system, try to look at some of it in relative terms.  Rico had an 82 rushing grade, that's pretty good.  I would be curious to know how that compares to every other running back this past weekend. Also, I think he had a few penalties, which if I'm not mistaken are graded pretty harshly.
    • Can we go back to square one for a minute and remember what we paid for this guy and how he was sold?  He was like, the anti excuse. Makes everybody better, Did we get that?  I think the answer is still coming but so far you might can say that for a game or two.  Cam had issues with personnel every season almost. Horrible OL, but he had receivers. Decent to good OL no receivers. Etc. Bryce needs to stand up, or keep standing up, however you want to put it. It is big boy time in year 3. He doesn’t have to make the playoffs but there is a standard. We’ll see what happens.  But the excuses are just fuging tired.  ps, I mean let’s not crown him when he has franchise record production in two wins,.. let’s see when they stop that, how he does then.
    • Where do you draw line top3 or top 5 money then? I wish he goes for a "hometown" deal and doesn't try and reset market but it's going to be tough to argue not paying him BIG MONEY if he continues do be a stabilizing force on the left side of line. DM got some tough decisions to make at the OT position coming up.
