...Anybody else really not that excited (yet) about the upcoming season?

Awesomeness!!

In my opinion this is one of the most exciting seasons to come in a long time. We got new young talented starters all over the place. It will be interesting and exciting just to watch the new guys even if we lose most of our games. We got a lot to be excited about if you ask me.

Ever since our 7-9 season in 02 (Fox's first year) I've always like counted down the days until the opening of our training camp. Maybe its because I don't think we're going to be that good this year, but I can't say I'm that excited. In fact, I'm not that excited about the NFL as a whole. I'm not even that excited for college football, and my team is the defending BCS Champs ROLL DAMN TIDE!!!. Hopefully I'll come around soon but camp is about to start in a few weeks, and I'm just not there yet for some reason...idk.

This is true. Win or lose this should be a very different Panthers team.

Excited about the upcoming season? Always, no matter how great or bleak our summertime outlook is. Nothing wrong with being excited/optimistic about what could happen come September.

Even when we went 1-15, they weren't blowout games. We lost by a field goal here, a missed catch there. We were still competitive, we just couldn't close the deal.

Each fall brings new energy. You may not like the off-season changes, but that doesn't mean that you can't be excited about making another playoff or SB run -- though honestly, I don't think that I'll be making a February trek to Dallas this year (but I want the team to prove me wrong on this).

Speaking of getting ready for the next season - some single-game tix are already available. See the PSL thread for presale info for CAR-ATL on Jan 2. Deal ends today if you're looking to roadtrip for the last game of the season on a holiday weekend. Regular sale starts on Jul 31.

Everyone team is tied at 0-0,so now is the time to let hope and dreams run wild.

When you loose you pro bowl defensive presence and see your star wide receiver aging like the rest of it, and loosing a step or two... it's hard to get "excited"!

BUT I am anxious. I see a lot of new faces this year, and I can't wait to get this season underway. I think we'll surprise some people.

    • I'm not sure that in a fair QB competition that Young would beat out Jones.
    • That's why I said stats aside. I lived in CO during Allen's college career and didn't have kids at the time so I watched most of his games. Bruh, I'm telling you. Balls just spraying all over the place. The type of throws where you're honestly trying to figure out who he was even trying to throw that one too. It was crazy. Richardson was inaccurate in college but at least you could tell who he was trying to throw it too. He threw a lot of early in the game Cam Newton type balls where it seemed like he was just a little too amped up and everything was a few feet high. Richardson's misses looked like they were maybe fixable with working on his footwork, release, etc. Josh Allen's misses looked like "ain't no way you're fixin' that poo, dude has a cannon equipped with no sights". LOL Huge props to the Bills for evaluating him as fixable and indeed fixing him.
    • A lot can change over the next week, but here is my best 53-man roster (note: I'm just basing this on guys on the 90 man roster currently). Obviously there could be trades/ waiver claims/ FA signings.   Offense (25) QB (2): Bryce Young, Andy Dalton RB (3): Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle, Trevor Etienne TE (4): Tommy Tremble, JT Sanders, Mitchell Evans, James Mitchell WR (7): Tetoria McMillan, Xavier Legette, Adam Theilen, Jalen Coker, Hunter Renfrow, Jimmy Horn, Brycen Tremayne  OL (9): Ikem Ekwonu, Damien Lewis, Austin Corbett, Robert Hunt, Taylor Moton, Cade Mays, Chandler Zavala, Brady Christensen, Yosh Nijman    Defense (25) DL (6): Derrick Brown, Bobby Brown, Ashawn Robinson, Tershawn Wharton, Sam Roberts, Cam Jackson OLB (5): DJ Wonnum, Pat Jones, Nic Scourton, Princely Umanmielen, Thomas Incoom  ILB (5): Trevin Wallace, Christian Rozeboom, Krys Barnes, Jon Rattigen, Claudin Cherelus S (4): Trevon Moehrig, Demani Richardson, Lathan Ransom, Nick Scott  CB (5): Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson, Chau Smith-Wade, Corey Thornton, Shemar Bartholomew    ST (3): LS: JJ Jansen  P: Sam Martin  K: Matthew Wright    Would like to hear everyone's thoughts
