I have no problem bringing Clausen in slowly, we need our benches to be warm. The bigger question is the number 3 QB. Tony Pike wouldnt last on the PS so is he guaranteed a spot even though I thought he sucked in college. Great measurables but bad arm strength. I say Cantwell back on PS to see if Pike can develop.

I doubt they would put Cantwell back on the practice squad if he were better than Pike. If Cantwell has any kind of preseason and we try to put him on the PS, he won't clear waivers just like Moore didn't clear waivers for Dallas.

I don't know that Pike would be picked up that quickly. And if he were, what exactly have we lost if he is the 4th best quarterback on the squad. Keeping a player who is not as good as Cantwell just because we drafted him in the 6th round would be very stupid.

Truth is that Cantwell has the best arm of any of our quarterbacks and if he has good intangibles, could be a very good player. The reason we didn't resign McCown was because of Cantwell not Clausen.
