Water Skiiing....

When I was younger I was out on the lake a lot with my friends. I started out skiing but quickly became bored with it. There are only so many times you can ride back and forth across the wake. It's fun in moderation, but at least for kids it gets really boring because you reach the limit very quickly.

this. i went through the progression. from doubles to slalom(kicking one off and coming up on one) to knee boarding to wake boarding. haven't done anything in a few years now though. my hyperlite is just hanging on its mount in the garage. sad really.

wake boarding seems easier than water skiing though. I want to get to a point where I am good at slalom skiing going 40mph and cutting the water.

as far as standing up on the board it doesn't get any easier. it literally took me two tries to get up my first outing. get behind a wakeboard boat though and the possibilities are endless. just catching 10+ ft of air is better than going 40mph. plus if you are aiming for that speed why not barefoot? my dad is the last person i saw do it. he was around 220 lbs then i think and needed to go about 37 mph.

If all you are doing is riding, then it certainly is easier. But clearing the wake while doing whirly birds and backflips and such makes wakeboarding monumentally more difficult. Having to pass the rope from hand to hand while remembering to continue spinning is really much harder than it may sound.

I love about a mile from Lake Norman, boat is dry docked at a marina.

i also recommend the lake norman ski club. i didn't have a boat when i lived in cornelius, but joined the club. they were sponsored then by the malibu and nautique dealerships. got to ride behind brand new wake boats every thursday evening. we would either go out of rusty rudder or the dry marina thats on 150. good times, and if i ever get back there i'll rejoin. they could teach you to go as fast as you are talking about, and they do competitions too. slalom and wakeboarding.

That'll do it... I live about a mile from the waterway, but don't have a boat. :(

KK or Kurb needs to get a boat and take us out...

i know what i want. just can't afford it. selling the bike is the first step towards it, if i can get it sold.

    • That's one of the most sober and honest breakdowns I've seen of Bryce.   That guys is being as real as can be.  No sugar coating, no tepidness to critique, blunt and straight to the point.
    • If you think someone shared some bad data on PFF (and falsely insulting your PFF) well....then you post the QB rankings and show where that  71.5 stacks week 1.   I don't pay for PFF and won't.  I just go off of what others say on PFF.
    • but it's pretty obvious, everyone who watches football simply knew....BY didn't outplay Trevor.   It just didn't happen.  And you didn't think it happened.  Because it didn't happen.  but, if you want to go back after the fact, slo mo film AND you just want things to of been better for Bryce?  Well, you can make that happen.   All you got to do is put on glasses and have the want.   You will find whatever you need.  Well, you know what....maybe he didn't botch that easy throw to Renfrow for a TD.  Maybe it was the pressure that forced a bad throw.  Everyone else could of been better.  It's really the OL that was bad.  Nothing he could of done now that I think about it.  Nevermind he could of just thrown it on time for an easy big play and the pressure wouldn't of existed....or the fact NFL QBs got to make it even with that type pressure.
