My 5 Cents...Panthers vs Giants

A Panther In Lousiana

Recommended Posts

1. We all remember the Panthers shutting down the old stadium last season. And while we all look forward to shutting down the new stadium, lets all be reminded that its not going to be that easy. We will still win though.

2. Hakeem Nicks should have been a Panther. Bottom line.

3. Matt Moore must show the Panther nation the reason why we all put so much faith and trust in him. There is no do-overs and no going back.

4. Jarrett is capable of making plays. He is capable of making touchdowns. Now with Matt running the show, can those 2 create a bond like Jake and Smith. He cannot afford another season where he doesnt produce.

5. Defense wins championships. Offense makes people take notice and watch. Can we get to a point where both are equal and dominate?

2. Hakeem Nicks - the panthers didn't pick until the 43rd pick. What did the front office get for that 1st round pick you didn't have?

edit: Never-mind I found it

#28: Carolina → Philadelphia (PD). Carolina traded its 2008 first-round selection (28th overall, which was traded to Buffalo, used to select Eric Wood), and its 2008 second- and fourth-round selections (43rd overall, which was traded to Minnesota, who selected Tyrell Johnson; and 109th overall, used to select Mike McGlynn) to Philadelphia for its 2008 first-round selection (19th overall, used to select Jeff Otah).

Then you might not have gotten Otah.

    • Assuming Mann is back I’d go ahead and move Green and the first rounder from PHX for a starting center. I prefer Okogie to Green anyway.
    • Been here since the Coliseum days. Hornets were the first pro team I ever rooted for. If they're ever going to get out of the gutter they have to establish a culture. They are trying to do that. I have no idea if it will be successful but it's a start.
    • I don’t think I'd go that far but there is definitely legitimate reason to ask how much he actually values winning and being great as a basketball player. He is very easily distracted with off the court stuff. This has been a public criticism of people like LeBron James with some of the newer generations of "stars". And it is 1000% valid and needed to be said. All I can say is I hope this is the year. If it is it will be apparent fairly early on. But I get the sense if the same themes continue as the upcoming season progresses the FO could look to move him before the trade deadline. It would suck for a multitude of reasons and I don't want to see it happen but if it did it would be on LaMelo and LaMelo alone because they've given him the keys and are finally putting pieces around him. If he wants to be a great basketball player and win he will be here and do what is necessary for the team to be successful. If not well....
