Jake and Lucas

Clearly our two weak links. Yes Jake is an emotional leader and his job is to not make mistakes and hand the ball off w/o problems.

That said Jake is on notice IMO. Stop the BS and get the job done efficiently like you've done before.

Lucas? He should be fired IMMEDIATELY!! Horrible, just embarrassing.

I don't think this is a superbowl team, although anything is possible.

Next year. start thinking Jake replacement, pay whatever Pep wants and get Marshall more involved (thank god we got Gamble locked down).

If we get rid of Jake let's pray for one of those once in a lifetime players. That's the only way we improve at that position in a short period of time. Thats something many people dont understand. We'd need one of those 1 or twice in a lifetime players at the QB position to match and beat Jake's poise and talent level. He's a solid player who is criticized to the fullest.

I agree. Jake just needs to get it through his head that he doesn't need to force things, because we have a lot of talent on offense now.

relax guys - Lucas has been solid all year. He had a bad game. I think he won't have another in the regular season or postseason. He is a good player guys. Bad game. It happens.

GO Panthers!!!!

The secondary has been off since the Detroit game. It isn't just one game.

Doood! Did you see him in Green Bay??

He's really looking bad. Let's hope that gets corrected but if it doesn't that man needs to go!

i agree about Lucas. He looked lost and out classed. Richard Marshall made some big mistakes too.

the panthers do need to start thinking about a serious upgrade at QB. Obviously Jake should continue as our QB through this year, but he's wearing down and I'm not so confident in that elbow anymore. Even his completed passes seem either behind players or to be sailing too high.

I don't think the elbow is the problem. His passes have never been on the mark. That said, he makes more big plays than mistakes most of the time and replacing him would be dangerous.

Jake has had a bunch of flukey interceptions this year... most can't really be blamed on him.

I wouldn't go that far. He hardly ever puts the ball right on the money, which increases the likelihood of interceptions. Some of the tipped ints have been because of overthrows, and passes thrown behind receivers. I love Jake as our QB but I'm not going to absolve him of his mistakes.

    • CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers coach Dave Canales said Friday that starters will play in the first two preseason games, stopping just short of admitting he made a mistake last season holding them out. The plan includes playing quarterback Bryce Young, who got off to a historically bad start to the 2024 regular season that got him benched after opening 0-2. Carolina opens their preseason schedule Friday at home against Cleveland, followed by an August 15 road game at Houston and August 21 home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.   Canales said he will evaluate after the first two games whether starters will play in the third game. "Kind of going through it last year, we had a mix of veteran players, but [this is] predominantly a pretty young team,'' said Canales, who has at least six new starters to the defense that was the worst in the league a year ago. "I just can't pass up the opportunities. The reps in games are valuable. "[But] it goes to the night before, when guys know they're going to go out there, they've got to make a decision to play football. So it starts the night before with the prep. You start thinking about your plan, taking care of your body, making sure you get your rest.''   https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45880676/panthers-starters-play-first-2-preseason-games-says-coach
    • You call the Cowboys purely for information, but we don't have the assets to pull off any realistic trade. Also, even if they would consider any trade, it's more likely they want to do it with an AFC team.
