This board needs to mature as much as the Panthers do.

I am so sick of the bandwagon mentality I see here. There are so many folks that love to praise our players in their glory days, and then if they have a bad day or no longer produce completely turn their backs on them and talk smack forgetting everything they have done for us.

Kris Jenkins....when he played for us, we loved him. I remember reading this board back then, nothing but good things were said about him. Then after he got traded we hated him cause he had the guts to come out and say something we were all seeing anyway.

Julius Peppers.....how many years did so many of you ride his jock strap? How many videos of him did we watch destroying other QB's? Then last year he comes out and makes a statement about not wanting to be a Panther. Was I dissapointed and hurt as a fan? Yeah. But I was all FOR releasing a guy that no longer wants to play for us, instead of forcing him to play against his will. So we finally let him go. I understand fans were hurt by that, but the trashing he's still getting a year later from so many of us was just plain horrible.

Then comes Jake. We just completely poo on this guy as a fanbase. I make a post about how he could serve as a great mentor to Jimmy and possible back-up and this board just laughs it off. Good one guys. The ONE guy that showed more passion and heart about this team than ANY other player, Smith included(Jake never punched a teammate in the face...twice, don't forget that) is now seen like he never did anything for us because he went downhill towards the end of his career.

Now Matt and Fox. Matt did the best he could last year, and won 4 of the last 5 games. He worked in that system because our O-line gave him time to throw the ball and kept the pressure off. Clearly that's not going on this year, and that didn't happen when Jake had that horrible game either. Jimmy looks to be better than both of those guys in those types of situations but that doesn't mean these two guys are just total poo either. Jake hung in there toe-to-toe with Brady in the Superbowl passing battle and we lost to a field goal. He had just as many 4th quarter come back wins that year.

As for Fox, I have been calling for his head for awhile. He just doesn't work for us and this team anymore. But that doesn't mean I'm going to ignore everything he did accomplish here, and the fact that he did give this franchise consistency when it had none. Guys were calling him a genius during his second year. We haven't been 1-15 under Fox have we?

So you know what guys? GROW THE f**k UP!

Players get old, they start getting worse, their abilities fade, and over time even the most reliable guys will end up looking like they can't cut it anymore, including our most talked about prize, Steve Smith.

Are you going to talk poo about him too, after he sucks during his last year, and two years later he either decides he wants to try one more time with another team if we decide to cut ties?

Why would ANY player or coach want to come play for a team and fanbase that treats them like this and only like them when they are in their prime, but when they go downhill we can't just be respectful and thank them for what they DID give us when they played for us and let them go out with their chins up? We just turn our backs on everyone. We turned our backs on the team's first true franchise QB. We turned our backs on arguably the best defensive player this team ever had because he didn't see a future with this team while he still had talent(Can you really blame him?) and it looks like we are going to totally trash Fox too since he's probably done this year.

I know if I was an NFL player, I wouldn't want to come play for fans like this. I would rather play for Philly. And to be honest, even though I am new here as far as posting, I have had my account for quite some time, and I spent most of my time reading and not posting. But recently it's gotten so bad around here I felt the need to jump in and give my two cents. And guess what? I'm kind of feeling the same treatment these players feel.

Looks like about 3 minutes before he posted that... If he cant read a post bitching about an over all younger fanbase that is immature, a fanbase that is only 15 years old. BTW a post that is made every other week bitching about the fans. Then he doesn't need to be a mod.

But if you really read most of the posts around here, the older posters that have been watching football for more than 15 years... most are not freaking out. Most understand the ups and downs of the NFL. Bitching about a few, only makes you look as immature as the people you are bitching about.

i read most, but not all, of your post. i agree that a good portion of our fanbase can go from "lets have a parade" to "burn it all down" in as little as a game. sad really, but at the same time we are young as a fanbase, and haven't had to endure as much as a lot of other fanbases that are true to their team through thick and thin.

Well then those vets need to step up and post on here because if you look around, and just telling you from my personal experience, some people don't even get past a thread title before posting a reply and in most cases, completely miss the point of a thread. That has not been the case around here lately. Like I said, we used to be a more supportive fanbase in this forum.

It's just really sad how we talk about some of the players that gave it their all for us. Yeah some, like Jake never had the natural ability to really succeed, but come on you guys. I can't ever recall a game where I thought Jake didn't give it his all. I can recall quite a few games where superstars with plenty of natural abilities did that.

I think you are the one that needs to mature. There is no way a grown ass man can get his feelings hurt by a message board. What did you really expect? Go visit the Cowboys forum, the Vikings forum, or any other losing team's forum and you'll see the exact same thing. It's not unique to the Panthers.

I get tired of people trying to defend mediocrity like it's their child. Our offense is horrendous, plan and simple.

Where did I ever defend mediocrity? Julius Peppers was mediocre? Jenkings was mediocre? Jake may have been mediocre compared to all of the other QB's statistically, but compared to our other options he was mediocre? As a leader and team player, was Jake mediocre?

What the f**k, ever. And it's not my feelings that I'm bitching about. I think its the players feelings that get hurt the most. But whatever, keep calling for replacements after every bad game, and keep trashing players when they come to the end of their careers while forgetting what they did for us while defending the guys that should really be held accountable....coach, GM, and then owner.

That's a great attitude.

    • I was checking out Chris Brazzell II measureables, and I thought they looked suspiciously familiar. Turns out it was true, almost identical measureables to former Panthers DJ Chark circa 2023. I even checked Terrace Marshall Jr results, and honestly isn't that far behind them.   I know this isn't unique for just our team, but we seem to specifically have an obsession with trying to make this tall lanky speedsters work for us. I admittedly wasn't that high on Brazzell, and when I watched the tape I didn't really see that 4.3 speed, and a strong wind seems to tackle him.   I really liked most of the draft, including getting Hecht in the 5th when I graded him as a #1 Center in this draft. I'm rooting for the guy to work out, especially since our HC and OC made their bones as Wide Receiver coaches. But Brazzell is the only one I'm kinda meh on. I was hoping we'd trade up to get Big Citrus, or if we went WR I liked Ted Hurst much better. We'll see though. 3rd rounders seem to be coin-flips for us (see DJ Johnson/Matt Corral). But I'm rooting for the guy and for this experiment to finally pay off.   I haven't seen anyone else post something about this, so just thought it was interesting and passing it along.   #keeppounding   -------------------------------------------------------------- AI Overview   Chris Brazzell II and D.J. Chark both possess nearly identical elite deep-threat profiles, highlighted by their tall, lanky builds and blazing sub-4.40 speed. Chark was slightly faster, while Brazzell offers a marginally heavier frame and longer wingspan. [1, 2, 3, 4] The side-by-side physical and athletic testing results from their respective NFL Scouting Combines outline their comparable profiles: [1] Metric [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] D.J. Chark (2018) Chris Brazzell II (2026) Height 6'3" 6'4" Weight 199 lbs 198 lbs Wingspan 78.5" 80.1" 40-Yard Dash 4.34 seconds 4.37 seconds 10-Yard Split ~1.50s (est.) 1.52 seconds Vertical Jump 40.0" 40.0" (pre-draft) Hand Size 9.25" 9.0" Analytical Comparison Size & Build: Both receivers offer an excellent catch radius with lanky, outside-threat frames. Brazzell holds a slight edge in height and an even more significant advantage in wingspan, giving him a massive target radius. Speed Profile: Chark famously recorded the fastest 40-yard dash time at his combine, while Brazzell was a standout at his event. Both times are elite for their size, translating directly to the "field-stretching" and vertical playmaking abilities that define their games. Draft Status: Chark was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round (61st overall) of the 2018 Draft. Brazzell was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft.
    • I still reserve my right to bitch about how incompetent the Panthers are at running a football organization and point to the mountains of evidence in support.
