Reality check

So thread after thread is saying re-activate Moore, Davidson sucks, Fire Fox... etc... etc...

Here's the deal. It's not Clausen. It's not Moore. It's not the receivers. Its not the D-line or the Secondary. It's not even Davidson, Fox, Hurney or JR.

What is it then? Why are we regressing?

Well...

Here it is:

IT'S NOT ONE PERSON OR THING. IT'S THE WHOLE ORGANIZATION

Ownership doesn't want to spend money in Free Agency for two years now, and is more involved in league issues than team issues. Management has wasted draft picks on trades and projects and continues to try and convince the public they aren't rebuilding. Coaching for all phases of the game is unimaginitive, unaggressive, predictable. Conditioning is transparent. Players from every phase of the game are complacent, lax, unmotivated, undisciplined, or just simply unexperienced.

I've watched this team in these final waning years of the John Fox era devolve into a good 'ole boys club, where mediocrity is rewarded and effort is neither expected or required.

Face it... the reason we made it to the Superbowl and the playoffs two other years is that since 2003 the Panthers had a mix of young rare talent, and strong veteran leadership. We've overpaid and then had to release, or simply just released, the veterans. And the young talent is now old talent.

So we need to stop asking the Panthers "how can you fix 2010?". The problems are deep, much deeper than one player or position. We need to start asking... "How can this organization turn itself around?".
