2011 Draft

I hope we trade down to the late 1st/early 2nd round while picking up additional picks for our trouble. I would prefer to have a high volume of picks rather than a top-5 pick with no 2nd rounders. AJ Green would be nice if we end up with the 5th or 6th overall pick, but drafting one stud receiver won't make this team a playoff contender, especially with a young QB and iffy defense.

Yes it would. What are you talking about?

Our defense is iffy, but our offense is terrible , we need someone who could help us compete on 3rd downs, I.E. someone who can catch the ball and get seperation across from Smith.

A.J. Green is literally the best WR out of college since Calvin Johnson. It'd be really foolish to pass him up.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
