I would think so. The 2 blade system eliminates the need for a tail rotor. Toy choppers have been using this for years. I maybe wrong, but I think the Germans perfected it back in WWII. What's new, as far as I know is mating it up with a "Pusher Prop" at the rear and the use of Fly By Wire. Planes have been Fly By Wire since the introduction of the F-16. There have been planes that used counter rotating propellers and even the Pusher Prop system. Natural evolution would say that a helo would adapt this technology.

The speed and the sound would be the main selling point. You don't hear the usually, ***, ***, *** that any helo built to this time has. I wonder how they were able to get by with the blades and air compression. That's the problem with prop airplanes. The prop compresses the air in front of it, making it very difficult to acheive the speed of sound in level flight. (It's long been argued that the F-4 Corsair and P-38 both broke the speed of sound in dives.)

This is pretty amazing.

Isn't it that the leading edge of the rotor itself cannot exceed the speed of sound rather than the aircraft itself?

As in the forward speed of the helicopter is limited by the speed at which the leading edge of the end of the rotor is travelling? Or the maximum speed of the aircraft is the speed of sound minus the rotor speed?

Does any of that make any sense? :)

That makes sense to me. I know more about prop planes than I do about helicopters. (Though I always wanted to get my helicopter license.) I do know there are some that can do a loop! AKA Blue Thunder.

      lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

      Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
