Taking plays off...who does and who doesn't?

Smith and Williams have that drive and motivation to do their best on any given play, any given drive. Peppers doesn't, unless he's looking for a contract extension.

I threw that last part in for grins, so calm down. Are you telling me that there is no evidence of Smith and Williams being hard workers, or that Peppers is equally hard working?

I don't question Smitty or Williams in any aspect of their game. I also don't question Peppers. I've watched every game and I don't see the same things some people do. I want evidence of Peppers taking plays off. I am suggesting that he doesn't and use comparative analysis of players playing the same position to back up my point. There is also plenty of footage out there available, so someone should put together a youtube clip showing all these plays that Peppers is lolly gagging. I haven't seen any visual evidence to support anyone's claims. If you have that evidence, I'd sure like to see it.

it doesnt matter... he is not expected to get sacks in that defense! he takes up blocks, a sack is a bonus. pep is our "sackmaster" haha yeah seymour gets more sacks half the time. pep coulda been so much better, he has all the tools.

So a homecoming king, something based entirely off personality and popularity compared to an All Pro selection. If your willing to compare the two then it's not worth trying to have a conversation with you based on actual merit or facts.

I don't want him to make a sack on every play, I just want him to look like he cares on every play. There are so many times that you see a pile coming right at him and he sort of dances a bit out of the way to make sure he feet don't get tangled up into it.

I dare you to watch an entire game and actually watch PEPPERS on every play, and only him. You will see exactly what I am talking about, it is ridiculous.

Then perhaps you should put together a montage of lazy Peppers footage and post it for all the world to see. Fact is, you don't know what you're talking about.

I really want to know why so many people think he is lazy. Watching our games he is the guy on our DL who appears to be putting in the most effort. He constantly runs people down from behind or form the other side of the field, when given the all clear he gives QBs hell and he is INCREDIBLY disciplined when it comes to stopping the run.

Most Des appear to give more effort cause they just bomb to the QB everytime and get themselves taken ou the play.

WTH are you talking about? Peppers gets blocked too, and guess what? He gets double teamed too? Not every play...no player does. So let's move to Jared Allen since Seymour is not a good enough example for you. Scroll up and see the stats listed about him and explain to me how he isn't lazy but Peppers is.

The original argument is stupid because you are judging it by tackles and sacks.

What you didn't take into account was the PRESSURE that they put on the quarterback. Peppers didn't put continual pressure on anyone the past couple of years, and if you think he did, you never watched Peppers for an entire game.
