Sad news for Panther fans

Being reported that the Bucs have released TE Jerramy Stevens.

Stevens was arrested Saturday night for possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Apparently his NFL salary just wasn't enough to live on seeing as he felt the need to go out and seek extra income (Florio theorized he may have been distributing to teammates).

Shocking really. Stevens has always seemed like such an upstanding citizen

Still, it's sad for us because it ends any hope that we'll ever see a repeat performance of "The Nutcracker".

Brayton's no idiot. He's one of the few veteran leaders we have.

From what I've read, he regrets that incident deeply, but those of us who know what a complete POS Jerramy Stevens is applaud it.

He lifted Stevens off the ground with that shot. Imagine if he hadn't been wearing a cup.

aahhhh, yes. I remember now. I'm getting my felons mixed up. Thanks.

* cond-degree assault armed with a deadly weapon and fourth-degree assault. According to a police report, Stevens and a friend engaged in a fight with a 17-year-old and witnesses said Stevens stomped on the man's face. Stevens agreed to a plea deal of a charge of misdemeanor assault.

* On July 10, 1998, Stevens tested positive for marijuana and served a day in jail.

* On July 27, 2000, Stevens was arrested for the sexual assault of a 19-year-old University of Washington freshman. Stevens initially denied having sex with the accuser, but later admitted to having sex with her in the yard of a fraternity house in the early morning hours of June 4, 2000, after a fraternity party, but maintained it was consensual. However, a UW student who walked by and witnessed them having sex called 911 to report it as a possible rape, noting that the woman appeared to be drugged; he described her as "half passed out ... eyes glazed ... no one home."[7][8] Stevens's semen was found in the victim, who was penetrated vaginally and anally, and numerous witnesses testified that she acted as if drugged at the party. Police suspected a date rape drug was given to the woman at the party, but blood samples were taken too late for testing.

WIKI FTW

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
