Coach John Fox shifts blame to Panthers' 'personnel people'

I would think he's gone, right behind foxy. I don't see a scenario where he stays, even as a cap specialist. We need some fresh blood

hate to hurt your feelings but Hurney been here alot longer than fox & he is doing exactly what his owner wants him to do, therefore i doubt he goes anywhere anytime soon

Yea. He survived the 1-15 season, but if you're looking for a scapegoat, Hurney will be my 1st bet. Even though he's the owner's puppet, i see him getting cut.

If he don't get fired, I wouldn't be surprised either.

hurney didn't make any personnel decisions during the seifert era(seifert had complete authority over the roster) up until this season Fox had more control over the roster than Hurney. Hurney is more of a adminstrator & shares control with the head coach.

from what I saw in todays presser, all the "cheapshots" at the management were denied by Fox.

So, if he was lashing out at the boss.......... - now he totally looks like he's just trying to shift blame away from himself and his coaching.

No need for sympathy

He must have a guaranteed contract to risk losing $400K/game checks.

Yes. It's guaranteed.

Fox won't be fired by JR because it would cost money to fire him/hire replacement.

True at the beginning of the year, but not any longer.

If Fox were fired, one of the coaches already on the payroll (Davidson, Meeks, maybe Skipper) would become the interim head coach, and they're already on the payroll.

    • I don't think working from memory is going to be very productive or useful. You would need to compare them all, which is far easier to do from the breakdowns of each game. That has tiered charts that give real data.  But, even then that wouldn't substitute for a trained eye(s) doing detailed film analysis to attempt to determine if we are modifying the offense dramatically for Bryce.
    • I think front office and general team culture under new ownership is sort of on the right track. The rookies all look incredible compared to where you'd expect each one of them to be right now. Lee's in game coaching is awful, he might be ok as a culture and developmental guy but that can't outweigh the in-game miscues and bad game plans. If LaMelo can't figure out the ankles then I think you gotta trade him for a haul, can't keep having your seasons lost every year because he can't stay on the court. And I say that as a big fan of him. Miller I think is unlucky, he looks likely to be an elite core player for us, but if he can't put together a stretch of healthy seasons he would trend towards LaMelo and need to be moved. I used to like Miles on the court a lot more but nowadays he's just an empty stat guy who needs to go. The short lived hot start to the season was fun but unless LaMelo and Miller both get and stay healthy within the next few weeks I can't even see us being a play-in team this year. And even if they do get healthy, we're probably looking at play-in at best, maybe barely compete for that fringe 6th seed.
