smaller premium, outrageous taxes sound about right?

sounds like you've been here!!!

take for example...I just booked my flights for the panthers game in Seattle. I decided to fly from here into Vancouver and then I'll drive down with some friends, and then I booked a return flight direct from Seattle to home. The flights are pretty much the same length, 10 minutes longer for the flight home, and almost the same cost.

Taxes for Edmonton to Vancouver - $150

Taxes for Seattle to Edmonton - $7

ouch.. sounds like universal is a great idea! ;)

I left out the bottle neck system part...

and I haven't been to Canada (except Niagara Falls once as a kid).. I've had to learn these things when telling those "less informed" about the reality of the situation when they hollar out "yay for universal health care!"

it's pure comedy to watch them fumble with a response...

true....thanks to strong oil prices mainly!

it's a long hard debate on the health care thing for Canadians...the other price to pay is long waits. We are pretty close to having a two tiered system fully in place now. If you wanna pay out of pocket, you can pretty much get whatever you need, when you need it. It's good when you work for big corp but sucks for the little guy, thats for sure.

yeah, healthcare has little to do with that..

and it's a concern for most places.. there are 2 extremes: those that want a Utopian system and the harsh reality that is the business aspect..

you have doctors, insurance companies, and the insured (or business owners) all vying for their claim..

you really want to fix this system.. take away group plans*, set up the businesses with an HRA, put everyone on their own plan (and HSAs should be the default as copay plans are a fuggin joke, and all so you can pretend you are living secure- you're wrong!)

Group plans are a joke.. you are playing with fire...

There's oil in Canada? Does our Gubment know about this?

Why are we thousands of miles away fighting a war for oil when there's some right here in our backyard? :D
