Let's just face it guys, the Panthers have no Luck.

We have never been a high profile franchise in comparisons to other NFL teams, and we have never been lucky to get high profile players. And the only one that I can truly consider high profile, Julius Peppers, couldn't wait to be out of here by the end of his tenure with our franchise. We just can't catch a break. And it doesn't appear that fame and elite QBs are part of our future.

Now I understand a lot of you are upset. It sucks, sure and I feel for you. I for one, am not that upset, because I just have this belief that top draft picks are over-hyped and most of the time don't live up to it. The main reason this REALLY sucks for me, is that the value of our draft pick plummeted. In that sense we are REALLY unlucky.

I am 100% against taking any other QB in the first round now that Luck has not declared, and at the same time, no one is probably going to offer us the number of draft picks we could have gotten for a trade had this pick maintained its value.

So what's the logical thing to do now.....do we draft a guy like Green with our first? Or do we go ahead and trade it and pick up a middle 1st, 2nd and a decent trade if anyone bites?

We need the extra help at other positions, and going for the next QB on the list is simply a big mistake, imo! Taking Green, and still not having a second round pick, is also not that great, but at least we would get something we have desperately needed, a potential #2 WR and eventual replacement for Smith. Thoughts?

we need more threads on this. That's my thought.

...imo WR is not a need here unless we're ditching Smith. Either way, DT & QB are larger needs and even CB is with Marshall gone.

You can't be serious. Steve Smith has been hurt 3 times in the past year, and just had his worst year of his career, and not all the time it was because Clausen could not throw to him. He looked rough and rusty all year.

Smith's career isn't over but his career as a current ELITE Wideout is pretty much done, and his transformation to a short-pass, slot receiver is going to begin this year if he stays.

We will lose our #1 threat before we even find our #2 threat if we don't do something this year. I figured after the whole Delhomme fiasco where we were left in such a terrible position at QB, most would be aware and try to AVOID that at WR.
