Draft

-Trade 1st pick to Bengals for Carson Palmer, 4th pick, and 3rd round pick.

1(from Cin)-A.J. Green, WR, Georgia

-A.J. Green is one of those once in 5-10 years type of players such as Ndamukong Suh. If we do trade down to #4, most likely Green will still be there and knowing the FO we will go BPA between QB, WR, DL, and Peterson if he is still there. Comparison-Larry Fitzgerald

3-Jurrell Casey, DT, USC

-To me, Jurrell Casey is the most underrated D-Lineman in this years draft. He has a motor that runs non-stop like Fairley, but he has started 2 years at USC while Fairley has started 1 at Auburn. I'd rather wait and get Casey in the 3rd rather than risk the #1 pick or a top 5 pick on Fairley. Comparison-Sedrick Ellis

3(from Cin)-Ras-I Dowling, CB, Virginia

-Cornerback has to be one of our 1st 3 selections if a good starting CB isnt brought in during Free Agency or Marshall isn't re-signed. behind Munnerlyn, we have nothing. Dowling didn't have the year he was expected to have, but helped his stock at the combineby running a 4.40 40 and look very good in the drills. Comparison-Ike Taylor

3(comp)-Clint Boling, G/T, Georgia

-There was a reason Clint Boling was a 1st team SEC Al-American. He is a dominant Guard who's draft stock has slipped because of having to move to Tackle due to injury to another player. Boling could come in and comopete with Schwartz and Bernadeau for the RG starting spot right away. Comparison-Chris Snee

4-Jerrell Powe, DT, Ole Miss

-This may be wishful thinking, but I don't think Powe will go in the 3rd round. He was once projected a 2nd round pick, but like Dowling, didn't have the season he was expected to have. He has a ton of upside and if he and Casey turn out, we will have a dominant D-Line. Comparison-Ron Brace

5-Alex Henry, K, Nebraska

-Henry is the best Kicker to come out of college possibly ever. He can punt, kickoff, kick FG's...everything. However, the only way we might draft a kicker is if Kasay hangs em' up. Comparison-Rob Bironas

6-Julius Thomas, TE, Portland State

-Thomas is a guy I have kept an eye on since the East-West Shrine game. After how well he performed at the combine, people have began to compare him to Antonio Gates because Thomas played Basketball as well. he will be a project that is well-worth a 6th round pick. Comparison-???Gates???

    • We all know what Jake was after the elbow surgery. It was bad. It was depressing. No debate there. Let's get into the numbers. Jake Delhomme as a Carolina Panther had 19,258 passing yards on 2,669 pass attempts. In comparison based on his current trajectory it would take Bryce Young roughly 3,295 pass attempts to exceed Delhomme's passing yards. That's 21 more games. Steve Beuerlein as a Carolina Panther had 12,690 passing yards on 1,723 attempts. It would take Bryce 2,151 attempts to exceed Beurlein's passing yards. That's 15 more games. We mortgaged the future and traded away talent in order to acquire Bryce for his abilities to be able to move the ball through the air. He is realistically marginally better than Jimmy Clausen production wise as a passer. If Jake Delhomme was awful based on this set of standards by some Panthers fans then by that warped logic so was Beuerlein. So under that strict criteria what specifically is Bryce Young??? 🤔
    • Yeah, the worst org in all of pro sports ensuring they stay as such. literally no NFL team has picked up the 5th for a player as bad as Bryce has been.  Folks cheering on bad decisions by the bad decision franchise
    • Picking it up basically guarantees him here 2 more years due to the cost.  Furthermore I doubt he is going into year 5 without an ext so basically now we are going to need 4 years to see if he can actually play.  Up to now I think any reasonable fan can see this experiment isnt working.   I would not go cold turkey I would sign someone this offseason as well as draft a guy.     So again I dont see any real value of the 5th
