Terry Bradshaw just said something interesting

He said in todays game with todays scouting and nit picking of QB's he would have been a 3rd or 4th rounder. Thing is, like him or hate him, the cat is one of the best to have ever played the game.

Interesting.

Brian Billick said something earlier interesting as well. He said that with the way the NFL is evolving you need a guy more mobile at QB, BUT first and foremost the thing that will never change is you must make plays IN the pocket I.e. read defenses and deliver strikes.

Just some interesting stuff.

Stopped reading after the title.

srsly tho Bradshaw was an average QB with a great team around him.

That's pretty narrow minded, since Bradshaw is a HOFer with 4 Super Bowl rings. I'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about when he's evaluating himself as a young QB prospect.

Bradshaw is the worst quarterback to ever win four Superbowls. He can't even hold Marino's jock.

That's your opinion. As far as I'm concerned, that guy was a stone cold warrior on the football field. I would love to have a young Terry Bradshaw on the Panthers roster right now. He was 5 times the man that Clausen is right now, I promise you that.

Your opinion...

like how that works?

Well, it was the opinion of Bradshaws' peers that he was pretty damn good. That's why he was voted to pro bowls and elected into the HOF, so you don't need to take my word for it.

I sure as hell don't expect to see Dilfer in the HOF anytime soon.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
