And yet, last year, Stroud still had a higher completion %, threw for 30 more yards, 3 less INTs, and 4 less TDs but did all that in 2 less games (kinda 3 as he got hurt early in a game and then missed 2 weeks).

So if he was god awful more times than not... what was Bryce?

Let's not ignore the playoffs....

Stroud - 231 passing ypg, 2 TD, 5 INTs (with a dominant defense)

Bryce - 264 passing ypg, 1 TD, 1 INT (plus 1 rushing TD)

Not saying Bryce is good by any stretch of the imagination, but Stroud single handedly lost them the Patriots playoff game (and could have lost them the Steelers game if the defense didn't carry him)

If we extend Bryce on a franchise QB contract I'll check put as a Panthers fan until the nightmare is over. I'll just go back to being a general football fan and tuning into the most interesting games of the day. Hell, I've been halfway there for years. For years I've been alf ass watching the Panthers on one screen while watching other games on other screens.

(MHS831 here):  I have been busy with exams, etc.  so I have not kept up.  However, Morgan made a few comments on the Rich Eisen show that suggests he will not get an extension right away--has to earn it.  He made a comment like, "We will discuss it when that time comes" and at one point he even said  something like "If he gets one."  He was trying to be positive, but he was not firm in his support for the idea of extending Bryce.  I assume this has been discussed on this forum, but I heard this:  "We have given him the 5th year and his numbers are projecting the right way, but we will make the decision when he has convinced us that he is worth the investment....I do not get the feeling that decision has been made."

As did I. Proctor really has the same issues as Ickey, but he’s a legit possible 4 tool OL. I understand why they were high on him as well.

I am glad we got Monroe over Proctor.  I wonder about the following:

WIth Moton, Walker, Ickey, and Monroe at OT, we have never been stronger--at least on paper.

I would love for Moton to play for at least another season, Monroe to take over LT, and Ickey to move inside to G.  Walker would be a great swing OT if we could get him fairly cheap--moving him to RT when Moton is done.

THat would be hard to pull off, and maybe a bit of overkill, but we'll see.
