Our division getting scarier

Lumps

GB still went and got a pass rusher in the first round last year and already got their beefy stud DT the year before...not many good pass rushers left for Atlanta...and not much in FA either...maybe they could overpay for Ray Edwards...

And they didn't take an offensive luxury skill player, they took an OT.

No, they took OT Bulaga in the first

I think the Falcons made a terrible move. Why are NFL franchises so enamored with WR's? They gave up 2 1sts, a 2nd this year, and 2 4ths. They should have either stayed put or traded into the top of the 2nd and got Hankerson. This will end up being a AE type blunder and thats if Jones pans out. If he doesn't (which is entirely possible the guy is far too inconsistent to me) it approaches one of the worst moves in recent history.

I like the Ingram move better but I still am of the school of thought that RB's are far to easy to find late to use a 1st rounder on (yeah I know both Stewart and Dwill were 1st rounders). Guys like Blount/Foster/Thomas/Bradshaw etc make it late ever year.

Personally I don't like trading up for guys at all (except for maybe a QB).

Well i hope Cam is amazing. If not we got worse while everyone else got better. Roddy White with Julio Jones across from him. Ingram in Nola. The Bucc's dline is young and HUGE. I am disappointed. Hopefully we trade up into the 2nd and fill one of our holes with a major talent.

The AE and Jimmy Clausen picks last year seem like a huge misstep. Or did it all start with Everette Brown?

But they already had 1 ! Did the Panthers lose a 1st because they picked Newton?

Yes. Can we go draft another player? Its like money if I pay a dollar for a Soda I can't then use it on a candy bar.

I'm not taking into account the 6th at all. They gave up 2 1sts, a 2nd and 2 4ths for the ability to get Jones.

Whatever, like I said in another thread it really doesn't matter that they spent a lot of picks to make the trade. All it means is they dont have to cut a like number of veterans.

I would be pissed as an Atlanta fan. The defense was the Falcon's downfall ove rthe past few seasons. Giving up that many picks for a WR is a bigger gamble than us taking Newton #1.

lol a WR wasn't the "last cog" in the Falcons' machine. They need D-line: Abraham is on and off being good, inconsistent and getting old and they got no other decent DEs; Babineaux is their only decent DT and he's far from All-Pro, better than anything we got, but still they need a DT or two also unless Peria Jerry really makes strides his 3rd year. Their offense was already solid, they needed defensive line to really make their push for the SB. Don't think it happens this year unless they do something amazing at the bottom of the draft or in FA.

Let me lol you. They already had top offenses in the league and only made them better if these guys live up to the hype. So they basically sealed their offense and have decent defenses, oh of which we still have 6 rounds of the draft and FA left. So they still can address their defenses. We are in the same boat on defense. If they are screwed because they didn't go D in the first, so are we. But we are stacked with a project QB!!!!! lol
