DE, DT, or CB?

doubt we can afford haynesworth. That would be nice though as long as he behaves. "Is big daddy cat gonna havta smack a bich?" -J Rich to haynesworth on first sign of trouble

LOL. I don't know all the particulars with respect to the cap figures and quite frankly I'm too lazy to look it up, but if we didn't have Pep on the payroll I don't see why we'd have a problem signing Haynesworth.

Besides, whether people want to admit it or not, without Pep our D-line is going to get ZERO pressure on the QB.

IF we get a high enough pick I want the best available QB (either Sanchez or Stafford) and if those guys are gone then I want either Malcolm Jenkins or Vontae Davis. If those two corners are gone then we should trade down. None of those DTs are even on the same level that Dorsey and Ellis were last year...they are OVERRATED. The DE class is really weak this year as well. Gotta go with BPA which actually as crazy as it sounds might be WR this year with guys like Harvin and possibly Maclin hanging around. I have a feeling unless we get one of those two QBs, Davis, or Jenkins in the first round I'm not going to be happy.

Number one, everything is contingent on what we can wrangle for peppers. Second, regardless of BPA (yea i know its usually our draft game plan) we have to draft defense. If that means trading back into the later stages of the first round and picking up Orakpo, Jerry, Johnson, or any of these other guys I would be ecstatic. Then maybe in the 2nd round pick my boy out of Wake Alphonso Smith. That would be my dream scenario.

I wonder what the penalty is for signing haynesworth with pep still on the franchise? If we landed him..I would take a first round and cash for whatever the penalty for keeping him on was. (if the penalty is a fine) :-)

The penalty as I understand it is that the NFL could void the contract, (Haynesworth that is)...

    • I thought he was from watching him play and also doing his first HC job. I thought he was the real deal  Apparently what happened is Kraft committed to Mayo and I don’t remember the timeline exactly - but Vrabel was unemployed at the same time Belichick was unemployed. They both were fired (or out) after the 2023 season.  Kraft hired Mayo. Who was kind of an obvious disaster. He probably already had the deal in place but I will give Kraft credit for not sleeping. With Vrabel out there for 2025 he made the move he needed to make and if it hurt Mayo’s feelings then oh well.  I guess you can tell I am not fond of Kraft but that was a really savvy move. At his age, pretty good. Still has it.
    • It’s going to feel like a home game for the bills. There are so many of their fans that live down here now, and many of them have never seen Allen play in person since their last visit was 8 years ago. It didn’t matter for the cowboys game, but it might here. I think we likely lose a close one. Probably a questionable flag or two that doesn’t go our way. X factor for Buffalo will be Kincaid and Knox. If we do win it’s because we get ahead and play keep away from Allen. FYI- I have many friends who are Bills fans that are fed up with Beane who we all revere and think is the one that got away. They feel like he was great to land Josh but has done a terrible job of building around him (especially at WR) and rely on him to become super man to win- sounds kind of familiar, like the last time we had a franchise QB.
    • I always thought of him as an uptight military family dude, didn't know he needs to wash that mouth out with soap lol.
