Athough the Thunder got a nice young team that has shown a lot of improvement this playoff, I like the Mavs to win this series. I think the veteran leadership of the Mavs will prevail over the youth and inexperience of the Thunder. Ibaka cannot check Dirk, and the Mavs can put 4 3 point shooters on the floor at once, giving most teams problems. I think they take care of OKC in 5 games.

The Mavs are playing really well right now. Their defense is what has gotten them this far. I agree, Dallas in 5.

EDIT: I don't think Beaubois is starting. I also wonder in the Mavs make it to the Finals if Butler will be available.

Dirk is the best player in the NBA. The Mavericks very well could sweep this series as well.

 at Dirk being the best player in the NBA...getting open looks because opposing Centers and Power Forwards don't like being out on the perimeter =/= the best. He's good for sure but Rose and Durant are the best players in the NBA right now...

Dirk is playing great. As the oldest team left in the playoffs (all their starters have 10 years experience), you like the confidence and assertiveness their vets are playing with. If Miami gets knocked off this round, Dallas will be your NBA champs no problem.

    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
    • Canales can never get his teams ready in the first week of the season so far. Hope that changes or Ben Johnson is going to take his azz to school.
