I live in DC, so I've already been to most of the places around here.

I can get a package to Costa Rica for a week, with a car, airfare, and hotel accommodations for approx. $750 after taxes.

I'd really like to go to Belize/Mexico as well, but afraid to do so with the cartel violence.

I just enjoy road trips, or at least I use to. Haven't done one in a few years.

They do have some decent deals going to Costa Rica, and I have heard its a enjoyable place. But even with that package, I imagine you will still end up spending more than a 1000 if you include spending money. But maybe not much more than that.
