I know this should be in the other thread, but I dont think that Rheagar was raping Lyanna. Rheagar was in an arranged marriage to Elia Martell in order to broker a peace deal between Dorne and the Iron Throne. I think that Rheagar and Lyanna Stark were secretly in love.... but yea, I'll post in the other thread from now on.

Of Course Robert won the war, and was able to spin the story however he saw fit since everyone else was dead.

From the other thread...

That may well be the case, and I am with those of you who believe it is... I was just portraying that whole story like it was told to the reader (from Robert's POV through multiple characters)...

On another topic...

Why am I so obsessed with the "mysterious" characters we have yet to see make a huge impact, even though we know they will at some point? Is it just because we don't know much about them?

I'm talking about Sarella Sand, Jaqen H'ghar (and whoever the hell he may be at any given time), Howland Reed, etc.

2 major conflicts. Dany and Snow will first have to end the reign of Littlefinger, then the main conflict will be Dany/Snow as co-rulers of the iron throne with the full support of the 7 kingdoms and dragons against the Others.

I cant wait for the next book. Seeing as how it is the second to the last of the series, it will probably reveal most of the secrets that we have been speculating on.

I think 'winds of winter' will focus on Dany conquering the seven kingdoms like Aegon the First did, and the buildup and organization of the Others who by the end of the book will be ready to try to get past the Wall somehow.

Maybe even a cool twist will be thrown in like Benjen Stark is dead, and is now a white walker. Then he could have a POV chapter that will describe the world of the Others and how they are preparing to kill everyone when the Long Night comes.

I think a lot of this makes sense, but for some reason I just can't see Littlefinger as a villain. Of course, someone of his character might be depending on that to lull people to sleep, but I honestly think he's not going to be the major antagonist of the last books.

Though honestly... I really don't know who it could be. If I had to guess, I'd honestly think it'd be the white-walkers vs. Dany and compatriots. It would fit the theme perfectly: it is, after all, a song of Ice and Fire, and the fire of the dragons versus the ice of the white walkers is about as perfect a match of tone and setup as you can get.
