National Cam haters haven't watch Panthers

i'll buy the jake delhomme comparison...as long as it's pre-surgery (which is what i was understanding it to mean anyways).

it more just has to go with the idea of him being a gunslinger. in college, i didn't really see him in that way, but i can really see it now. gunslingers aren't known for being consistently pretty throwing. it'[s often times very risky as far as the placement goes and will cause a lot of cringing. INTs will happen pretty often, but so will the big plays and TDs. it's more about mindset than anything. instead of trying to keep everything looking neat and precise it's more balls to the wall. those are the guys who end up doing some incredible things in clutch situations. it's still pretty risky, though it does make for some exciting football.

Pretty much.

Might be time to check prices on home defibrillators again.

The only reason Cam has national haters is because the Panthers have never brought in anybody from the draft in my memory that has so many expectations at the QB position. No one knew who Delhomme was before his rise, and after he rose up to a certain level of play, fans from basically every team hated him because he won games. It's different with Newton, all he has done in his football career is win games, and he is starting at the top of the hater's chain especially now since he is our starter. But I love the hype and criticism because it gives us exposure, and beneath all of the hate from other fans and teams, is fear because of what he might become.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
