I Can't Take Anyone Name Blaine Serious...

From everything I've heard, Blaine is like a taller version of Jimmy Clausen. That's why I said fug no to drafting him. I don't wish him ill will or anything, I just doubt he'll ever be anything more than average.

Well now they are trying to turn him into Cam if u read these articles. Oh my..

As matter of fact, I clicked on a story about Blaine on the SB Nation site for the Jags and Cam's picture was used..Like talk about twisted psychology...The story was supposed to be about how the Panthers scouted Blaine and found that both him and Cam were the same. I guess that was why they used Cam picture instead of Blaine's...:eek:

But here is a question, if Rivera really found Blaine to be very similiar to Cam and with all the media created controversy that was surrounding Cam, why didn't the Panthers take the safer route and go with a kid who was painted as a wholesome kid over a kid who was short of being called a criminal??? Then again, he was strongly hinted to be one.

In all honesty there is something about the vibe around Blaine that seems strange. Interestly enough, he got his start in college by default and he's now getting his first NFL start by default...Hmmmmm

Funny enough, the Jags forum has a quote from Rivera stating that the choice was between Newton and Gabbert for the number one pick.

And that they viewed Gabbert very highly.

So instead of going with the more "safer pick" Rivera and Hurney bucked the system and threw caution to the wind with the "most polarized athlete" in the draft. Something doesn't seem right with that one.

I think they made that quote up. Link please.

Actually, it's true. I read it also on SB Nation for the Jags. The article has a beeming picture of Cam in his Panther's uniform instead of Blaine but the article is to show that Blaine is just as good as Cam.

Still don't know why they couldn't use a picture of Blaine instead of Cam.Strange.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
