Naming Boxer Puppy

my dad does KOA "camping". hauls his 5th wheel there, and then has access to courts, pools, etc. that's not camping.

Yeah I agree. I hate it when people tell me they are going "camping" and it turns out they are going to a KOA or some poo.

Go out in the woods for fugsakes, go camp near a waterfall or something, enjoy the outdoors.

I'm about to buy some new backpacking gear since a bunch of my stuff got stolen two years ago. Do you enjoy back packing? I don't really have the time for long trips anymore, but I would love to do a nice two day hike, somewhere like Grayson Highlands in Virginia.

We should take a trip to the mountain this year, I'll teach you to snowboard or ski.

Totally off subject and sorry to the puppy dude for the minor derail....

Took my bro out boarding about 6 years ago and tried to teach him....lets just say it was a very frustrating day for him... I mean, yeah, its hard to learn, but also, hard to get over that hump where you can actually stand without eating poo every 2 seconds.

Anyways, we are probably going this year and now le bf and my sister both want to be taught....I have warned them that it can be very frustrating and to not expect to be caught on fully after 2 days of boarding..

Any tips on easy teaching methods? Kinda like the pizza/french fries with skiis?

A couple of simple things, make sure to keep your weight centered or forward on the board, NEVER LEAN BACK. Start with flat skids on toeside and then heelside, meaning don't point either end of the board downhill, keep it perpendicular to the fall line and just flatten out the board somewhat till it begins to slide then either lean back on your heels or toes to stop the slide, depending on which side you are working on.

From there go into falling leaf on one side, meaning skidding on heelside or toeside switching from goofy to standard pointing downhill so your motion looks like a falling leaf, but you don't actually connect turns or switch edges. After you can falling leaf on both edges you can start to connect turns.

Set up their boards initially at about 15% duckfooted (toes pointing away from each other)

yeah I won't be doing their boards/bindings...that'll be wherever we rent from....most likely Alpine Ski Center here in Charlotte....I will see what I can do though.

Either way I'm ready to get out there again....I progressed a lot last year, was really challenged by the people I was with, and I can't wait to get back on those black diamonds!
