A bad day for QB Matts

I hate that Matt "Stump the" Shaub will miss the remainder of the season. The Texans are my second team, and that is a big blow to them. Now the Texans will suffer the Matt Leinart express. Yet there is good news. I said before the draft this year that TJ Yates would be that "Tom Brady" type player. Someone who was drafted in the later rounds, and then goes on to be one of the better cats at his position. TJ Yates will save this team, just like Tom saved the Pats in 2001.

Can I get a prescription for the drugs you are taking?

    • That's sometimes the case when it comes to the X's and O's of the game, and in film study. But when it comes down to the little things like hand/foot movement to beat X, Y, or Z coverage off the line or any other number of nuanced like that, basically the things players are discussing on the sideline between series, that's where the vets come into place. Those are the things that if the coaches who didn't have a ton of success were good at, they'd likely have had more success in their careers. But either way, none of that changes that coaches can only do so much, having vets to lean on is imperative to young players in their early years, it's not really even debatable.
    • Underrated point. And I can definitely see the same thing happening in Dallas. The Norman thing was so stupid. And I think (rightfully) it was the beginning of the end for Gettleman
    • GB thinks they have that in Love. Maybe they do maybe they don't. We'll see how it plays out. Ultimately it's all about the results on the field in the way of wins, losses, and ultimately rings. If they win a SB in the next few years it was obviously worth it.
