NY Jets versus Denver Broncos

I completely disagree. People are saying The Golden Calf of Bristol is better than Cam. I don't care how apathetic or even favored you are towards The Golden Calf of Bristol, but I for one can't let people get away with that. It's ridiculous and it annoys me that people would take Two Completions A Game over Supercam.

Their loss, who cares.

Cam hasn't done poo in the 4th quarter BTW, that's a legit concern going forward.

And after watching Fox call run up the middles all game long like he did vs NYJ, don't give me this its all Chuds fault bull poo.

Didn't Denver have a horrible Defense last year?

Fox is looking pretty good right now.

yep. fox is doing a FANTASTIC job. but this puts them in a tough position- The Golden Calf of Bristol is never going to be an NFL level passer and I can't see sustained high level success with him under center. but now that denver fans have had a taste of wins with him, it will be harder than ever for them to replace him.

Broncos were 32nd in points allowed last year, this year they're 29th in points allowed. So.....

yeah, 9 for 20 108 yards is not better than Cam. The better argument is the wins not his passing.

Overreact much Bronco fans? I know it's been 13 years since you have had a QB but you really need to calm the *** down.

He's the worst passer maybe ever but his style is like they did in the last 5 mins of the game.

He has to go empty set 4 wide and just play spread or spread option.

The bottom line is that he does have something whatever that "it" is he has it, so you tailor your offense to suit his strengths.

their defensive personnel are awful. i'm talking carolina panthers bad. they've had some miserable performances but they've been playing solid more often than not in recent weeks. they aren't pretty but they've been grinding out some wins- more than we can say.

See what the Broncos' defense did last night? They, not only slowed down the Jets offense, they helped up some numbers on the board for their team so the QB wouldn't have to be in hole. They understand that The Golden Calf of Bristol has som serious weaknesses but they believe in him and the team. They didn't give away the game then expect their QB and the offensive team to continually come out and score with every drive like the Panthers seem to enjoy doing with Cam.

I hope the Panthers were paying attention.

No, The Golden Calf of Bristol isn't better than Cam as a QB but The Golden Calf of Bristol as a team is better than Cam Newton the team. Football is a team sport. What the Broncos are showing is that ur QB is part of a team. He isn't the entire team. U still have to find a way to win as a team no matter what kind of day ur QB is having.

And once u believe u can win, u must go out and do whatever it teakes to WIN.

The Golden Calf of Bristol is a winner. Stats are meaningless and Kyle Orton is a guy who can get you 300 yd games if that's what you're after. The Golden Calf of Bristol is a guy who can lead game-winning drives and inspire his teammates to go that extra mile when it's late in the game and everyone's sore.

Similarly with the Dolphins they were 0-4 with Henne who is much more consistent than Moore and more accurate, yet Moore is 2-3 and celebrates every first down with a running fist pump jump. Little things make a big difference in sports.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
