I'm not amused and the NFL shouldn't be either. When you attempt to personally insult a player as your celebration, you've taken it a bit too far and should receive a fine.

Didn't see the game but in the comment section it appears people are saying Johnson dropped two big potential game winning passes. No word yet on if he's criticizing God on Twitter again.

it's a TD celebration.. he didn't shoot anyone... in the leg. or anywhere else for that matter.

Hank Williams has freedom of speech, but Stevie Johnson doesn't?

I wouldn't support Johnson being released over the celebration. To me the celebration is just ugly and mean-spirited. Plaxico could've lost his life and did lose two years of his freedom. I just don't see why you would joke about someone's criminal history as a celebration during an NFL game for your achievement. If he said something on twitter it would be classless but not of much significance.

You say people are oversensitive but I say people are tactless.

Johnson said he was unaware he would be penalized, and added he regrets making fun of Burress.

He's exchanged texts and apologized to Burress, adding that "everything's cool'' between the two.

Burress told ESPN Radio in New York that he and Johnson talked and agreed to move on.

"I don't look at him as any less than he was before. And I don't want everybody to say he's a bad guy because he made a mistake. I've made a few in my life,'' Burress said. "I have a lot of respect for him as a player. And I think he's going to rebound from that.''

Jets coach Rex Ryan called Johnson's celebration "ridiculous.''

San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore has reached the end zone enough times to know what to do.

"If you're going to celebrate, you should celebrate off the field and just celebrate with your team,'' said Gore, noting the only additional thing he does is pay tribute to his late mother, Lizzie Gore. "I point up to my mom. That's it, let her know I know she's watching over me. ... Every time I get in the end zone I want to give her that.''

I remembered the wrong topic,

so when exactly did you go from:

in regards to McQueary, a 28 year old man witnessing a child being sodomized and leave the building without doing anything,

Even if he did know about it I wouldn't care. Since I believe in freedom and liberty I believe people should always have the choice to do nothing and should not be punished for exercising their basic human rights.

To this:

I just don't see why you would joke about someone's criminal history as a celebration during an NFL game for your achievement. just curious how it's okay for a grown man to allow a 10 year old boy to get raped while Stevie Johnson is tactless for a TD celebration?

    • Canales up first. Guys got their legs back yesterday and started a little slow when they came out Bryce challenged them in the huddle and they responded "Dominant practice for the defense today." Praised turnovers, "beautiful hits," and being physical Praised Moehrig, Ransom, Incoom, and Jones II Confirmed playing starters. Predominantly a young team and can't pass up an opportunity. Emphasized game day routines such as nutrition, body readiness, etc. Plus it's a bunch of new guys on the defense. Bryce will start. Will play them the first two, but starters might sit for the third game depending on how practice goes that week. Nic Scourton has a mild hamstring that happened in special teams. DJ Johnson had an issue with his hip flare up and is getting checked out this afternoon. Experimenting with approach to preseason games. In Seattle they played their starters in all but the last preseason game and what Pete Carroll was looking for in terms of mental readiness to play football. Thomas Incoom has been getting a lot of work with AC Carter adding to his toolbelt. Getting better as a rusher and being physical in the run game. Looking for a consistency in response. 1pt for a win, 3pts for a TD. Defense doesn't like that, but in games if they give up one go ball the score can swing. They challenged the pass game and the run game today. Guys are getting together before, between, and after team drills to challenge each other Job of the coaching staff to set the foundation for our schemes, philosophy, and expectations of what it's like to play Panthers football. Powerful when players take that and the locker room owns it. That's when it becomes our team, their team. At the end of the day, the men on the field have to rebound from a bad play, celebrate the good plays, and keep each other in tune for a whole game. Robert Hunt is amazing. Size, talent, quickness, flexibility. Really intelligent guy that there will say himself there are technique things he needs to work on. Regardless of where players are at, there's a constant learning curve and loves that Big Rob is challenging himself with the position coach. Thinks the digital down and distance can be really valuable. Getting the information quickly will help with the flow of the game. Thought TMac looked great but there were some near misses that he'll have to get in the room and communicate with Bryce on while reviewing film. James Mitchell keeps doing right and his trust factor is increasing with the QBs. If you're right and the coverage says the ball goes there, it'll come. Had some issues at the start of camp but is trending up. Newton or Person: "It looked like today was beyond thud but short of live. What do you call that?" Canales: "No, that's thud. In my mind, that's what thud should look like. The challenge for our defensive guys is can you put your body in a position where we know that would've been a tackle." Whizzing by, tagging with two hands, etc doesn't show you whether you would've made a tackle. That's not real football. Let's the play extend because guys have to be ready to chase sometime where the ball squirts out from a pit. Can't train to say "Ah, it was a tackle" and relax but instead play with intensity through the whistle. Lathan Ransom is bringing the physical style of play that they saw on film. Has been really into the details and someone that they can count on. Has really given himself a chance to start at the other safety position. Excited for the extra energy from a game-like environment that they'll get from FanFest. Used to have four preseason games and now FanFest feels like that first one. Will give ST full speed reps to evaluate. Making plays and feeding off of the fans. Window closed quickly on the INT to finish practice. CSW baited Bryce with some movement and made a great play. Saw it from Bryce's perspective with TMac coming open. Has played all over the secondary that they can count on to speak loudly and be on the same page with his teammates.
